I was listening to someone dissect the early episodes of The Simpsons and how the writers went out of their way to create excuses for characters doing stuff. Like in The Principal and the Pauper they have Homer going to a restaurant and wanting to drop the kids off at Patty and Selma's. Like I said, I am Mexican; around town there is this local cosplayer (but she is somewhat famous) girl who happens to be 2 dan black belt in tae kwon do. I presonally do not know her, but we share friends and all of them say I should not care and at least talk to her.
