I feel like you can tackle real world problems in a comic. But not a huge amount and not with an issue per..well issue.

It ends up being like a Captain Planet episode. The reason an issue is an issue is because it's complicated and has no quick fix solution. And sadly Superhero comics are generally about quick fix solutions to simple problems (punch the bad guy, diffuse the bomb, save the hostage).

There is so much more upswing to new FF in comparison to a Mark Waid written Champions it's not even funny. Also, no encompassing mission statement, just young adult heroes wrecking bad guys on the west coast. Hope it happens, even if not directly under that banner. I'd trust any of that team's solo writers on a team book over someone like Waid or Bendis.

Robbie and friends? Because that's who I was talking about. They're just a modern day take of the New FF with legacy characters, who fit together thematically.

Even Champions' team makes sense, the main trio carrying over from ANADvengers and then adding some teens, Cho being the only outlier since he's a bit older and seems to be there just to cause drama within the team. It's being treated like Waid's soapbox in comic form with melodrama thrown in for kicks, that's why it sucks.

There's a reason some people here were cautiously optimistic given the roster, and then Waid proceeded to dash all those hopes 2 issues in.

Yeah, you're right that the diversity here isn't forced since all the members are good examples of how to utilize new characters while representing different backgrounds, that's just more of a personal gripe towards current Mavel's direction.

Personally, I like when a team has some form of cohesion and aren't just thrown together, but every team has to start somewhere and I get that that's usually how most start out. Given what this book is I just wish it wasn't so preachy, but it's delivering on what was advertised and I can't really fault it for that.

Just have to look to getting my Sam fix in the new solo I guess.
