There's three things that make this different from fight scenes animated in Japan. The first is that its very consistent, with the characters steadily moving at a steady pace with no pauses or notable changes in speed (there's motion blurring and some smearing to make things look faster, but the speed is still the same). The second thing is that the camera work is very conservative and focused on clearly showing everything that happens, from enough of a distance that the fighters are fully in the frame, and with relatively long shot lengths. And a third thing is a high framerate.

Even though this is inspired by anime, the American animation traditions are still clearly present.

Yeah, it was an 11/10 fight while it happened but it deserved a better ending than Zuko getting dumped into the sidelines while Katara takes down Azula.

When it started underperforming, CN sold the rights to producing and airing the show for insurance money. It will never be aired on the network ever again.
It was hardly the show's fault, too. It got mediocre ratings in primetime and was banished to Sat AM hell. When it got good just a few episodes later, it was already stuck at the 6 AM slot where no one could see it shine. Tragic.

I disagree. Zuko was winning that fight, which is why she resorted to cheating, but she was pretty exhausted from being crazy, so they were probably about on equal footing.

In any case, one of Zuko's things was redeeming himself for past mistakes, which he did by putting aside his family grudge bullshit and taking one for Katara. Azula's thing, especially towards the end, was brute forcing people to get what she wants. Katara denies her catharsis; the way she used water to beat her was so passive, so nonviolent, it's like she extinguishes her (water vs fire and all)

I don't know, maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I think that conclusion was one of the better parts of the finale

Avengers EMH had some good stuff. Nothing amazing, but solid. I think the fight against Graviton in the series premiere proper is what really sold me on the show, though. Not some well-choreographed, fluid masterpiece, but this large-scale battle of multiple heroes who just met taking on this insane guy who controls gravity. I was fucking PUMPED when Thor did that DBZ shit to finish him off.

This is all very acurrate, and it comes to how animation is budgeted differently.

In the west, the budget is very evenly distributed. Characters move a lot while speaking, and movement in general is consistent throughout the episode. Anime is highly economical in it's movement, saving the budget for when characters REALLY need to move, and this translates to the general philosophy of how to pace and animate fight scenes.

It's interesting, SymBionic Titan is probably the closest a western show has gotten to actually emulating how fights are chroeographed and animated in Anime, if not as much the art style.

Beware the Batman is a great case study in the strengths and weaknesses of cg, the decisions they made with the show really min/maxed the inherent pros and cons of the medium.

The character designs are... not the best, and really highlights how a lot of the models just don't look that great, and how simply they are can be jarring in the realistic rendering. The textures are ridiculously hi res, but also very flat. Instead of drawing the backgrounds for each shot, they built massive sets, they built all of gotham city, which means there's a lot less care and detail in every frame. The background is just the background, where as in traditional it was crafted for THAT specific shot, with a bunch of life and detail breathed in.

But the CG allows it to do things no other Batman series has come even close to. It is by far the most consistently well shot and well directed Batman television series. The choreography on the fights is tight, detailed, and readable. Different characters fight with different styles of martials arts. Batman and Deathstroke both mix styles on the fly, and it very clearly shows, you can see them changing their stances and strategies to adapt to the fight without it being overtly drawn attention to, and this is all done at great speed, using a level of technicality in the fight choreography and animation, and skillful camera work and editing, that just isn't feasible in 2D animation for anywhere approaching the same budget. And not just in the fighting scenes. The camera work and editing is absolutely stellar in the show, and there are so many shots and sequences that could just never been done in a 2D show.
