For example, Uncle Chuck is no longer Sonic's uncle. He's "an uncle to everyone." Snively is not related to Eggman in any way now too.

Yep. For a little while, even before the reboot, Sega had a mandate stating that Archie couldn't make up new relatives for game characters. Pre-reboot, this was relatively easy to get around for existing relatives by just not emphasizing the relationships (e.g. Sonic's parents could still appear in the comic and could still interact with him, but the parents-child relationship was downplayed), or by killing off the characters in question (e.g. Knuckles' baby-microwaving dad, Locke). Long-since-unused game characters like Mighty and Fang also got around this, since Sega wasn't planning on using them ever again anyway.

Post-reboot, most of the relatives got Pendered anyway, and the few who remained had to be retconned into not being relatives (Eggman's nephew, Colin "Snively" Kintobor Jr. was now Eggman's colleague-turned-partner-in-crime [and possibly his mole inside GUN now], Dr. Julian Snively; Sonic's Uncle Chuck was now just an honorary "uncle to many" with no blood relation to Sonic).

Relatives of game characters who originated from the games themselves (e.g. Vanilla the Rabbit, Maria Robotnik, and Gerald Robotnik) are canon to the comics universe as well (although this is pretty much a non-issue for Maria and Gerald, seeing as they're pretty busy being dead).

Aside from Sally and Rotor a little, not at all. They introduced them, but then they focused almost entirely on the game cast (which really was one of the best parts of the reboot, Amy and Tails have never been as well integrated as they are now) and the balance is shifting back now.

I'm excited to see some 'twan stuff after this arc. I always liked him. Honestly wish SEGA didn't mandate these lame anniversary retellings, since it's basically just the original games with Snively and the FFs inserted into certain points.
