Does anyone here have any examples of cartoons just getting ruined by focus testing? Because I hear that term a lot.

A lot of 90s actions shows suffered, lot of "think of the children" where in the test groups back then.
Hell Teen Titans Go came to existence because it did better with focus groups then the New Teen Titans shorts did. (allegedly TTG was Time Warner's best revived cartoon pitch in focus tests)
Pocahontas got edited to death because kids were finding it to boring to watch.
I know Star Wars Detours was killed because of focus groups found it "mean spirited"

Green Lantern TAS. Not really "ruined", but more of an uphill battle.
This is what the 90s Ruby-Spears Mega Man cartoon was going to look like before testing poorly with focus test audiences. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWqK0kcTEA8
What we ultimately ended getting was at least in the "so bad it's good" territory, but it's interesting that were it not for focus groups, we would have gotten something that looked a lot more accurate to the games.

Not a cartoon, but Hallowen 6 got a totally different movie version in theaters with shaky camera, weird lights and the ALL plot taken away to create an ambiguous end and nonsense. Since 3 teenage kids in the focus testing said that the movie was boring

If we're including things other than cartoons, the remake of The Stepford Wives.
The focus group ending makes no sense.
