still, this show had a few flaws. and it's HOW few flaws that tell you how good a show it was

almost everything else was great. i loved the kind of hairstyles they gave people, the way the action felt so engaging despite the limits at the time, the way even the buffoony villains remained a legitimate threat that required serious caution, throughout. Overall I preferred the first season of Librarians. The finale was like Endgame in Blue Beetle where everything they had learned or experienced throughout the season was referenced or brought back in some way, it felt like everything had built up to that ending.

But the episode in season 2 with the timeloop/video game was pretty awesome.

Dog gave immortality and longevity. So Uncle had the energy and vitality he had at his peak in his youth. So he was as good as he was when he was young.

It also acted as a kind of shield whenever the holder was blasted by a giant fire ball, they never even got singed.

does bring up what I feel was a pretty big flaw in the show; Jade being quite frankly rather useless most of the time unless she had access to a Talisman or other artifact, they really should have had her either properly pick up some martial arts skills from Jackie or go full magic apprentice with Uncle by the end of season 2 at the latest, or at the very least start being more useful on the research side of things, as it was Jade was often more of a hindrance than anything, and not in an entertaining manner either

For a show that was basically "find the macgruffins" the series, it was really enjoyable.

Usually I hate it when shows are about finding the mystical artifacts, but all the talisman's and shit were a of fun to see.

I also thought Shendu was a pretty great villain. I think he was one of the few shows in those days where the main bad guy was an actual threat. The battle they had in his complete form was pretty great with them grabbing random talismans from his body to fight him.

I think the action itself got a little lazy as the cartoon went on-- compare the martial arts sequences in the pilot to stuff from later seasons. Things got a lot more cartoony, I guess. It was still all entertaining, but there was a greater degree of slapstick that made the action feel less serious.

The main thing that kept it good is that they actually use the macgruffins later on as required. Often having both good and bad sides trade off multiple times. Possibly only show that did it better would be Xiaolin Showdown where by show plot rules may end up having them literally trade may it be for the better or worst. Most shows do it wrong but making each artifact it own special episode but never be seen again.

I always felt Pig & Dragon were too much alike. I felt Pig should've increase your senses, better sight, better sense of smell, better hearing, better everything to borderline having a 6th sense. so let's say the show was to be revived for a new season, for various reasons the last season is rendered non-canon for this revival(it's finale removing the Talismans being the biggest reason), what would you do?

The only episode I specifically remember is the one that involved a vampire, although I don't remember all of the details.
The vampire started out malnourished and weak. Couldn't cross running water, and I think could only see based on movement. Eventually it stole some souls or something, and was able to do regular vampire shit.

That was when Tohru got sapped of his chi and Uncle used Jade's Chi to revive him. He basically became Jade herself, down to her mannerisms and one-liners. It was pretty cool seeing him became more and more lively and functional.

The continuity in this show was impressive. Like the way the Talismans had an effect on the show beyond season 1 and weren't just forgotten about despite them not being the main focus. And that all their hard work on S1 was undone by accidentally destroying them, which was a funny twist.
