Is he right about The Joker or is it autism?
>>88006256
>Geoff Johns
>not an autist
Pick one and only one.
Neither. He's being a car salesman because it's his job. I don't blame him, but I don't trust him either.
>>88006256
>Have this cool relationship with Harley
He's baiting
>>88006256
Hold on, hold on...HOOOOOLD ON!
There was a Joker & Harley book?. Huh didn't know, who wrote it?
>>88006385
>He's baiting
You think?
>>88006509
Nope! Joker and Harley have never actually been an item in the comics, they've just coasted by on everyone's memories of BTAS since No Man's Land, when he kicked her out of the gang and she's had a variety of solos and team appearances since.
>>88006256
He's not really saying anything substantial so I guess he's not wrong. This Joker certainly does have white skin, green hair, and a relationship with Harley.
>>88006509
>Hold on, hold on...HOOOOOLD ON!
Fuck off, reddit.
>>88006565
What about this then?. I never heard of this book before
>>88006256
He is right on the metal teeth you know.
>>88006572
He's a consultant, no? If he likes the DCEU portrayal, does it mean anything?
>>88006605
Try looking it up, it doesn't exist.
>>88006552
dat ass
so margot does have one given the right angle
>>88006256
Any opinion Johns has about any magical, batman related, vertigo related and wondy related character is irrelevant.
Who cares? He put deathstroke as a batman enemy in the next movie
>>88006626
But he's not saying he likes the character, just very small aspects of it. There's nothing to talk about, it's all empty praise.
>>88006632
Yeah, you're right, it doesn't exist. Werid that DC would put a fake book in an documentary/interview of sorts (a least to me it's weird)
>>88006626
That he is a terrible consultant that doesn't give a fuck about any character that isn't his faves?
>>88006632
>>88006678
I was wondering what was that from.
>>88006626
The word "consultant" means "the director is allowed to pretend you don't exist"
If he says he likes it, maybe he does or maybe he just likes climbing the corporate ladder so he's not going to rock the fucking boat in a fucking videotaped interview.
You'll notice, however, that when he gives interviews about Rebirth comics, he has made some blatant digs at Marc Guggenheim and Zack Snyder without naming their names, saying stuff to the effect of (I'm paraphrasing because I'm too lazy to look up the exact quote) "If you don't put Ollie with Dinah you're doing it wrong"
>>88006678
Johns told Affleck that he wrote a ton of batman books...
>>88006731
He has written enough books that Batman makes appearances in for that to technically be a true statement...
>>88006256
Johns has zero authority and knowledge of batman media
I mean he just called harley/joker a new thing in the comics
is he that out of touch?
>>88006754
I think he meant new thing as in a relationship in a movie.
>>88006754
Anything created in the 90's IS new comparatively speaking. The DCU is like 80 years old and most things that're important were created way back in the gold or silver age.
>>88006754
Less than 25 years old is a new thing in comics.
>>88006717
It strange since it says "#1 of 6", and it's full credited like a real thing
>>88006793
I wouldn't call that new either though
Its like calling deadpool or spawn a new character
Harley is about 20+ years old now and DC is already including younger characters than that in their movies
Calling Harley/Joker a new thing is probably showing how out of touch Johns is since it must have just reached his radar a couple years ago.
I doubt Johns even knew who Harley Quinn was in 2006
>>88006801
If that is the criteria for new then what do we call all new all different marvel
>>88006801
It's really not
You can say that for like 10 years old stuff at best, but 23 years is an entire generation
>>88006851
You're not getting that comparatively 20 years is nothing when you consider the entire span of comics. When every other character was created in the 40's a character made in the 90's is exceptionally new.
>>88006907
Okay but comics will always be around
They are a never ending medium with no expiration date
In terms of the beginning of DC yes she is new
In terms of history as a character she is not new
Which is why Johns saying that their whole thing with Joker and Harley being new is wrong.
IDK maybe he thinks palmiotti and conner have done something new or whatever but to me he just sounds out of touch
>>88006907
20 years is old enough compared to 80 years
Superman wasn't a "new thing" when George Reeves show came out, and it was only 14 years since Superman's creation.
>>88006605
>>88006632
>>88006717
>>88006678
"Hey, we're putting this video out to hype Suicide Squad. Can someone find a cover with Harley's nipples for extra subliminal effect? What? You can find one? Hell, just fake a cover! Don't forget the rock hard nips!"
>>88007187
Is it at least fanart?
>>88006960
The longer a thing exists for, the longer changes are considered "new" for because they have to be around that much longer to penetrate into the gradually fossilizing public perception of the thing.
For example, Lola Bunny is still a "new" addition to the Looney Tunes because she's not one of the classic characters, and Space Jam was just as long ago as B:TAS was.
>>88007232
The description here seems to imply it is, but I couldn't find it on his deviantart.

>>88006851
Deadpool and Spawn ARE "new" in terms of comic book history.
It's like how rap music and the internet are still "new" to your grandparents because if you look at their entire lifespan, from the 90's to now is a drop in that bucket.
>>88006256
He's right, but he conveniently left out the part in which most of the comics depicting him like that are complete shit.
Heath Ledger was the only one who made him look like a truly evil entity, which is when Joker is at his best.
>>88007308
That's Anarky.
I would've gone and talked to him desu.
>>88006867
A footnote in Marvel's yearly relaunch era.
Day X, still don't understand why people hate Jared Leto. He seems alright.
https://vimeo.com/193270131
>>88006256
Yes
>>88006552
well he isnt wrong, her whole arc in the movie is realizing she is her own person outside of joker, and has been for awhile. But tragically, of course, she goes back to him at the end.
>>88006565
>Joker and Harley have never actually been an item in the comics
well thats just not true, also the most recent issue of Harley Quinn confirmed they have had sex
>>88006565
>>88006565
>Joker and Harley have never actually been an item in the comics
how much more pleb can you get?
>>88006256
In what he said there, yes. Leto's Joker looked on-point whenever he was in a nice suit. And the metal teeth make a great deal of sense. Probably got them smashed out a long time ago.
The PROBLEM with this joker was the stupid tattoos and Leto's cringy "method acting" for all of seven minutes of screentime.
>>88006565
>co in charge of reading comics
>>88006565
>i dont read comics, the post
>>88006565
kill yourself you worthless faggot
>>88011047
the tattoos were barely noticeable and there is a reason for it you fucking pleb, they are trying to emulate Morrison joker.
>>88006256
>which is relatively new to the age of comic books
reminder that this 43-year-old man is talking about a relationship that is 24 years old in cartoons and 23 years old in print
reminder that the quarter century the relationship has existed is one-third of the time the Joker has existed
reminder that she only exists in the first place because Bruce Timm doodles clown porn in his downtime
>>88006565
>Joker and Harley have never actually been an item in the comics
C'mon dude what the shit, even Azzarello did it.
>>88011120
It says Miller right in the image you posted you fucking moron.
>>88011373
you fucking retard, its two separate thoughts

>>88011356
plebs are retarded
>>88011356
Haha this comic was such worthless garbage
