For how paranoid he was about everything, it's ironic how much he trusted his friends and family. He never really second thought any of them, so when everyone hid the affair and his wife never said anything, Dale had no reason to ever think differently.

Dale's a great example of how KotH was a parody of Southerners AND a parody of the media culture (i.e. North-East and West coastal) impression of Southerners.
