Here's some garbage i drew on my second year, sorry its not related to the thread.

Not really, but they were playing her as the bad boyfriend, it's obvious that was the angle they were going for, while briefly touching on what Lapis did. As for the other stuff that "hasn't been brought up again" there's not much there to tell. Most gem experiments where an unkown to the gems, they're still around, but the majority were in just the kindergarden and the cluster. Homeworld wasn't doing this for a long time, it was a shock to garnet. The only other things that are from s1 that they haen't gone back to is the gem corruptions, and those have shown up aquite a bit, a lot with jasper, and some with peedle, not to mention the willy coyote episode. Aside from tha,t there's only things to be said about rogue gem shards, but again, that's something we probably won't see much of for a while and ther'es really not much need at the moment.

I'll admit Malachi's build up was massive, but I doubt they thought the finale wasn't enough for her. Personally I thought ti worked well, it was a long ass fight and it required all the gems to form alexandrite with some help from steven.

Also Lapis wasn't "chilling with the gems" she was basically doing what she did to keep her own home. At the moment she's just making light of her issues and ignoring them, see her "I just feel trapped" art, and her joking about being kept in the mirror for years, the gems are not laughing besides peridot.

The only really glaring thing I can think of from season 1 that they haven't explored is the beetles, also the lighthouse gem from s2 or so.

Chracter wise, they've done a good job with bringing up past stuff.

I started with a same idea, i had nothing better to do i just drew something i was interested in.
Then i got frustrated, because i was so bad at drawing,
I started doing some proportion tutorials from youtube ''how to draw human skull'' and so on,
after that i tried some pose tutorials, drew ton of stick figures to practice gestures.
Then i went back to drawing stuff i liked, even made few characters that i still haven't finished designing.
Doing those tutorials and studies helped tons, but it was sooooo fucking boooring, and i still need to do them.

You're just giving the show excuses. Lapis was the one imprisoning Jasper in malachite, and the show was building it up as this uniquely awful and toxic relationship/fusion, but Malachite wasn't focused on at all as a character even though seeing how she felt about being herself would have been cool and would have been the only opportunity we got to explore a fusion like her, and AAS painting Jasper as the bad boyfriend with Lapis as the innocent girlfriend who's being too hard on herself was pretty rough, it didn't seem to communicate what Rebecca said she wanted it to (as mutually toxic/abusive with both of them bringing out the worst in each other and neither being the sole victim) for most viewers, like you for example, plus the entire thing was ignored after malachite got poofed, then brought up out of the blue and handled in like a minute.

People were hoping Malachite would leave lasting effects on Lapis and Jasper, but they've only brought stuff like that up at a few random times (Lapis not liking Peridot's pool, Lapis not wanting to steer the boat because she's afraid she doesn't trust herself with being in control of others anymore, Jasper spending a lot of time in the ocean, being desperate enough to fuse with a corrupted gem, being upset that nobody she fuses with wants to stay with her). Admittedly, if they keep addressing the ways it affected Lapis, and Jasper if she comes back, it'd be pretty cool, but so far they've done a pretty shit job at being consistent with it.

That was too long of a post just for malachite, I would have more to say about how a lot of the other stuff you mentioned was handled pretty shittily as well but I'm too tired to type it.

Garnet comes back to Homeworld shortly after her fusion, hoping that since she's still part Sapphire, Blue Diamond will accept it. She's trialed and they dont, particularly the court, which intendeds to separate Ruby and Sapphire, thinking this is all Ruby's fault. Blue Diamond and her court routinely mock Garnet, by asserting that gem fusions that are not homogeneous are prohibited. Garnet argues against segregated fusions, but is quickly shot down. The court addresses Garnet are "Sapphire" because the ruby is not worthy of attention. This disturbs Garnet greatly. Garnet escapes again and seeks refuge with Rose Quartz.

As she proves herself to be powerful warrior, she along with other CG's, are still Homeworld cultured to an extent. Rose does odd things like put Pearl in charge of battalions. Garnet feels uneasy about a pearl being put in charge, and publicly notes this to Rose Quartz. Pearl feels pressure from other gems who think she's unqualified to be leading anything.

Rose sits with Garnet and Pearl, and tries to get Garnet to understand that pearls have sovereign right because they are sentient. Something a brute like Ruby, and a sophisticate like Sapphire have trouble grappling with.

The problem with Garnet is that most of her dialogue is internal.
Every word from her mouth is the outcome of incessant talking between her constituents.
So in a show that lets us see through Steven's eyes we only see her short answers, not every consideration.
As such it is hard to guess how an "I panicked" happened.
Luckily Steven is a dream warrior and can dive into fusions.
There he can contrast Garnet's inner workings to Malachite.

Yes, they would sure need to discuss these matters.
But they all have made a conscious decision to follow Rose who stood up against their order and rulership.

Who said this was a "secondary private tmblr"? She had one before that she deleted, then she got a new one. She didn't have two at the same time. And presumably the followers are her friends, given how private the stuff she put there was.

I feel like people often forget this. Pearl could have so easily abandoned Steven and the rest. She could have so easily treated Steven with contempt and all the resentment she held towards him could have easily lead to her never growing to loe him. She could have so easily gotten rid of Greg and all the other men before him. Pearl is salty and all but she isn't a bad person.
