I've been following the show for a while and holy shit this last episode stepped up the game and turned shit up to 11

The way the absolutely ruined Star in a way she's not yet been hurt was simultaneously brutal and incredibly engaging. This is some Game of Thrones level character destruction and i'm really interested to see where this goes, especially with the heavy Starco foreshadowing throughout most of the show.

Dude skateboards are a joke in highschools and junior high.

Longboarding though is a meme. Everyone owns one, which sucks when I tell people I longboard, in actuality I skate down hills going anywhere from 20 to 45 mph instead of using it on campus.

I thought Star being insanely jealous of Gustav/Charlie and then kicking him out of the house was such a bitch move, and made her seem really unlikeable compared to how she was portrayed in most of the rest of that season.

But with her feeling similarly about Marco being with Jackie that moment works slightly better in retrospect. It's less exaggerated now and not played for comedy this time either, but it's interesting they showed Star having a tendency to be jealous, with it hurting more so now that she's gotten even closer to Marco.

I'm sure at least half of this is show is made up as they go along (though it probably has more of a plan now), but this season they really are doing a great job at making almost all the episodes really feel connected through parallels, callbacks, expanding on stuff from before, etc.

Marcos gonna get over Jackie, I'd wager before the end of the season. I think its gonna go something like this.
We're gonna see them on dates for the next 3-4 episodes, and Star will look sad and shit.

At some point after this, Marcos feelings for Star and the blood moon ball will.be brought up one of three ways. Star anf Marco will talk about it on a friendship Thursday, Tom will bring it up with Marco, or it'll come up while hes on an adventure with Star. Either way, the conversation will end with Marco reminding the.other person that Star said on the night of the blood moon that she needed him to be her friend, and that he wants to honor that. This will imply that, rather than him not actually feeling anything for her, hes ignoring his feelings based on her wishes.
This is where it gets messy. Marco has had Jackie placed on a pedastal his since he was a little kid, and for the most part she lives up to that. But its gonna hit him, probably not long after the aforementioned conversation, that his crush on her was a little kids idea of true love. He's also going to realize that while Jackies nice and pretty, she cant take him on magical adventures around the cosmos. Hes also going to realize hes never going to be comfortable enough with her to confide in her his feelings like he can with Star.
Eventually, hes going to drift away from her, until he breaks it off and Starts pursuing Star.

A prompt for all the writers out there:

Janna manages to blackmail Marco into spending a day with her doing everything that she asks and keeping what happens a secret from everyone else. Marco is appropriately suspicious and on guard but has no choice.

The day arrives. Janna shows up wearing pink, and has Marco to take her around doing stereotypical couple things: amusement park, cafe, arcade, dinner together in a park watching the sunset. The whole while Marco acts annoyed and guarded, waiting for the surprise trick to drop, but it never does.

The day ends. Janna thanks him for a fun day and leaves. For a moment Marco thinks Janna looks a little sad, but decides he must be imagining it and stays on guard for the surprise trick he knows has to be coming next.

The next day Janna is back in her usual clothes and acts like nothing happened. Marco remains creeped out by the whole thing and stays on guard for a week or two, waiting for the surprise trick. It never comes. Eventually he shrugs and files away the memory as yet another “Janna being weird” moment and stops worrying about it.

Neither of them ever mention it again.

Yeah I give a full day based on how much time has passed in a episode. 1 full day for day and evening shown, Star changing her outfit helps there. I have no way of telling how much time passes between multiple days in a episode.

For season 2 I initially went with Ludo's time spent hoboing up over-riding Star's timeline as his is more concrete. I start going by Star time after Ludo get's his wand back.

The only certain things we know with the timeline is Star's 1st day on Earth, her 47th to 51st day on Earth, the 90 days Ludo spent after the last episode of Season 1 before he found the wand, and October 31st.

I feel like people usually differentiate between "the first day," meaning for everyone, and "my first day." But then there's the "well she's not from Earth" issue, which also complicates thing.

My main reason for thinking the timeline is all fucked up in the show is that both interpretations could be right. For the side that says she arrived in spring, there's a Halloween episode in which no one seems to be older. For the other side, there's a football episode seemingly days after she arrived on Earth. Can't think of any other evidence for either side.

The only way to know what the crew is intending is if we get a birthday episode/reference or a reference to their school year. If they're in 10th, she arrived at the end of 9th grade. If it's still 9th, the show's just following some wonky cartoon timeline tat doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

My position is that we just don't know, and that season 1 episodes seemed to say one thing and this season's saying a few others.
