It's already selling below the points both Nicieza and later Parker got kicked off the book but it ties in with Captain Hydra, so unfortunately the book is proably gonna be kept alive until then despite really not deserving it. Or at least it's gonna make it to issue 12.

Best case scenario: it gets cancelled and relaunched with Spencer as the writer and some decent artist.

...this could be interesting. Or lets put it like this: if it's about Zemo trying to tempt them back to the good old days and recruit them for Steve's Hydra, the likelyhood that it's actually going to be about the Thunderbolts and their characters and relationships for once, and not about propping up the Bucky & Kobik show.

Sean Izaakse can stay, although he might profit from a more toned done colour palette. I'd love to see Acuna or Paul Renaud do a Bolts book, though.

Writer-wise, Ewing would be great considering how continuity heavy T-Bolts book usually tend to be. Spencer would also be fine with me - he has at least proven himself capable of writing a good Fixer and MACH, and what we saw of his Moonstone was also okay. His Zemo is a mixed bag but there seems to be a plan there. I can see someone like Hastings and Max Bemis do a good job, too.

Other weird thing in the book is the boner it has for punishing/humiliating/showing up Moonstone. Why? Is it just the sloppy Karla of Bendis' Dark Avengers done even more sloppily? Karla has always been petty, but she was threatening before because she was competent.

Which is hilarious because Bucky has never been the biggest seller outside his run as Captain America.

Even the Brubaker/Epting Winter Soldier solo wasn't exactly setting the world on fire sales-wise and that had a hot creative team at the time (started at 50k, was below 20k by issue 16 if I remember correctly). In fact the Nathanson/Noto Black Widow run for comparison had actually more solid sales than it.

The captive Bucky stuff has a bit of movie synergy. Given MCU Zemo's history with Bucky and Black Panther, and the fact Bucky is chilling with BP in Wakanda in movieverse, there's a chance if they ever do MCU Thunderbolts it is a Bucky thing.

I dunno. I only really care about Bucky with Cap, or if Zemo is hazing the shit out of him.

If Zub had any writing or story-telling skills whatsoever, he would have taken advantage of Kobik mind-fucking powers and implied in the first issue that she is the one keeping the team together and mostly functioning. Then you'd have had a plot hook right away (why is she doing this, why is she invested in this team staying together, when and how will the team notice).

There are just some serious holes in the character motivations here.
