For one, he actually has a face. Secondly, he actually talks. Dormammu in Doctor Strange is a fully fledged entity and character. He's not some ambiguous danger. The way they presented Strange and Dormmamu makes me believe that while yes they want Cucumber to replace RDJ's character type, he's gonna be the MCU's version of Reed Richards, and him and Wong+other sorcerers are gonna go on F4-like adventures showing mystical threats and civilizations instead of cosmic ones.

They basically made him as a mashup between the incorporeal Faltine aspect and the physical form he took when he traveled with Umar to the Dark Dimension.
