Hard to tell. The gift card was given for the six-month anniversary of Star and Marco becoming friends, and was about to expire, so six months + an unknown number of days/weeks/months, followed by the next few episodes that aired after that. Most episodes usually take place over just one day, but naturally they probably didn't all occur nonstop.

What fucks this up is that, though the amount of time they've acknowledged has passed doesn't contradict anything, the existence of a Halloween episode sort of does if we assume they're all in order. Star's diary literally says she met Marco on the first day of school, probably August or September, meaning she would have already experienced Halloween back in the first season. She should be 15 by the time of Hungry Larry, which is definitely within the continuity of the second season since Glossaryck's tower is visible on the Diaz roof. But I think this show would have acknowledged the birthday of either Star or Marco, so she's probably meant to still be 14 and in the 9th grade.

The only way to really fit Hungry Larry in the sequence would be to assume it's just a non-canon holiday episode that's not meant to be thought about too deeply, or since (I think) Star's wand isn't seen, maybe it's out of sequence and can take place in the future. First option's probably more likely

Overall she's probably been on Earth 7-9 months or longer, maybe over a year if you take the whole Halloween weirdness into account. I think the show's going for "it's a cartoon, there's no solid timeline since they're not aging in real time," but Gift of the Card actually fits in with passages of time noted in previous episodes (50+ days by the end of The Other Exchange Student, several weeks/months leading up to Storm the Castle, 90 days in between Storm the Castle and the day Ludo got his wand, then a few more episodes before Gift of the Card) and isn't contradicted except by what was promoted as a "Halloween special," so I dunno

Well here goes your spoiler. For starters i don't work with the people making the show, but our project ties-in with it (Take a wild guess what is it) so we get some rough script ideas and sketches.
This is old, like 3 months old, so maybe there's some outdated things. So without further ado, spoilers.

Jackie is not a monster, she's actually a half mermaid/mewman royalty thing, both parents are royals. Mermaid hybrids are considered taboo in their kingdom, and the king/queen took offense with the mewni royals, to prevent a war they have been exiled
Jackie's sea motifs are recent because she just learned about her being a royal hybrid thing herself, in fact it seems the blue bang is actually the magic keeping her human fading, her actual hair color is blue She's some sort of distant cousin to Star

Since Star lost her book, she decides to stop using magic or starts failing at it, i'm not sure. She leaves to become a more physical fighter and ends up under Mina's wing Apparently there's some Jarco development while this happens, but eventually leads to the reveal of the first spoiler. From what i can tell this happens because Marco starts to get more and more distracted since Star left.

About Jackie and Marco
Jackie actually wanted Marco and Star to help fix thing with the mermaids, she likes Marco, but didn't count on Star getting jealous, so now she only gets Marco to help, it goes as expected, they end up captured

So Mewmans and mermaids are on the verge of war again and pretty much everyone gets a wind of this, including Star and Ludo.

During their training with Mina Star gets a look about how the monsters are living bringing back a point from mewnidependance about royalty beign a bunch of assholes, and decides she'll chnage that when she becomes queen

One of the episodes is apparently Ludo trying to use the book while glossaryck keeps messing with him, until the very end

There's nothing magical about Janna she's just weird like that

Third part:
I'm not sure why exactly they are going to war, but it has to do with Jackie beign royalty, moreso on the mermaid side.

Everyone ends in Mewni's castle, Ludo, undercover Star and Mina, Marco and Jackie as prisoners, mermaid royals Apparently they are trying to strike a truce or a deal to prevent a war. Chaos ensues and Star just can't bring herself to attack the monsters, until the mermaid king or queen goes after Marco. She uses her wand choping off their tail. Her hearts fade and suddenly the wand is unresponsive At this moment Ludo uses his wand creating one of those dimension holes, Star gets pulled in, Marco grabs her, but she let's go, telling him she sorry and she considers him more than a friend, i'm not sure if she confesses at all With Ludo now having both wands he starts overpowering everyone, and Marco, Jackie, and many mewni royals and soldiers escape trough a portal They end up back on earth with Marco's parents oblivious about this all the time. So Star is lost in a portal, Marco is determined to save her and goes to read her diary for hints, (or maybe Glossaryck?), and Ludo is king of Mewni but a dark shadow looms over him

Believe what you will. If it sounds lacking on the silly and funny consider it's just the main plot points.

Also I want you to rewatch that scene and pay attention to the sound. When the moon starts to turn red you can hear a heavy deep "transformation" sound that goes on a crescendo prompting Marco to open his eyes, which then reaches its peak when Marco's looking up, and fading out during Jackie's face cut. Thus we don't get to see it turn back to normal, but the sound cue is there.

I'm sorry Starcofags, but if anything that scene just symbolized Jackie killing Starco.

What if there was always two wands, one for mewnies and monsters way back when/when there was harmony between the two. The mewni wielder was female and the monster was male. One of the mewni wielder was power hungry and stole the monster's wand (my guess would be Star's quiet ancestor) which gave way to the mewni war. After so many generations the monsters forgot their heritage after being oppressed for so long. Toffee found out of there was supposed to be two wands and he was to be the rightful wielder of it. If nothing else I'd imagine a positive outlook on a more prominent magical story, learning more about both the Mewmans and the monsters would likely be taken positively.
