Bumps and discussion are appreciated.
Jive turkeys can split.

This is the ugliest comic in stands right now, but ultrahipsters will defend it over real art.
>>87894377
HELL YEAH I forgot this book existed
Thanks for storytiming
>>87894666
I'm surprised no one had already done it.
>>87894596
>>87894624
I fucking love these goofy expressions.
You can really see Genndy's roots in animation on display here.
Marvel need to release this as a blacklight poster
>>87894779
Damn dude that's cool
>>87894791
The fish on page 5 kills me.
Hot damn.
>>87894477
Are these new villains, or obscure old ones that I'm too much of a pleb to recognize?
>>87894895
This is a nice page. This issue has really nice colors.
A wild Wolverton appears.
Dude, fucking Genndy Tartakovsky is working on this!?
My dick is so fucking hard, holy shit. I love his work.
This art is fantastic
>>87894895
Dorothy Knight is breddy cute
Based on the bad guys they used in #1 I'd guess obscure old ones.
>>87894377
>That D

Meant to reply to >>87894899
This definitely would've worked better as a cartoon. But I'll take what I can.

Well that's unexpected.

>>87895032
I NEED THIS AS A POSTER. WILL BUY NEXT ISSUE.
I liked the first issue better, that art in this was gnarly though.
issue three cover, sign me up
I wish marvel didn't have an abysmal trade department, I would love to have this in an oversized hardcover
>>87895319
Yeah, a lot of this just felt like filler that would have worked better in a cartoon. Admittedly, the art was amazing, but almost nothing actually happened.
>>87895352
me too /co/mrade
This comic feels like a Fantasia segment, as far as the art goes. Dunno how to feel about that, but it's really unique at least.
>>87894400
For some reason his face reminds me of that one comic page with Joker staring at the baby gorilla.
>>87895352
I'm down for a Treasury Edition.
>>87894568
I think he could take those cats easily.
>>87894682
Reaction image?

God no. Its a comic and it works because of that.
10/10 art.
>>87894545
Cage's hatred of snakes lives on.
This mini was worth the wait, a real treat visually.
>>87894408
Anon, Greg Land is still shitting out books left and right.
Rob Liefeld is doing a Deadpool OGN.
Fucking Thunderbolts is suffering the art of Malin.
At least this looks the way it does intentionally.
>>87894596
This is fun.
>>87894624
Oh god. This entire fucking page.
>>87894682
Fuck, every panel could be it's own reaction image.

>>87894804

>>87894859
Man, if these things don't end up in the poster sections of head shops by the time Defenders (Luke Cage Season 2?) hits, Marvel doesn't know what the hell they're doing.
Which, given Death of X, means not one of these fly mothers is getting the poster treatment.
>>87894926
>>87894400
Variant cover by Bruce Timm where?
>>87894408
And inbreds like you will still buy shit like Squirrel Girl and think it's good
>>87894624
>people say this art is bad
look at the fucking energy on this page, this is comics art at its finest
Decompressed as fuck storytelling. Come on Genndy. I wanted more.
Still amazing because of the art. Lots of poster material here.
I love this shit.
Dude this art is rad.
>>87905607
Decompressed? What are you talking about? In this issue we go from Cage trapped in a box, through a jungle chase with cat men, into a hallucinogenic fever dream which ties into Misty Knight and then the introduction of some fresh horror on the last page. All action or suspense. Compare that to Civil War II which had Spider-Man and Captain America talking, Carol Danvers and Maria Hill talking, Carol Danvers talks to the both of them, And then Iron man shows up for two pages of fight fluff. Meanwhile the inhuman goes on a weird trip and gets no answers about anything despite it being the penultimate issue of the series. Cage! might not be plot-heavy, but it's not decompressed. Shit is happening in this book.
God damn the art is atrocious.
I wouldn't read this even if they were paying me.

I thought of the High Evolutionary myself.
>>87894981
yeah that'll be in my nightmare fuel gauge.
>>87894985
think of it as an appetizer 'til the new Samurai Jack arrives. Hard to believe that it was that the Cage comic was a WIP nine years ago
These faces are amazing.
>>87913005
final bump
So is this book the consolation prize for a failed cartoon pitch? Because this whole thing look like something Tartakovsky wanted to animate.
>>87915166
I think Genndy has been trying to do this book for almost a decade
but I imagine planning out a cartoon and drawing a comic book are similar processes
>>87915166
This was just a mini Genndy did that's been sitting around for about five years or so.
>>87895032
>*This cover has nothing to do with what's inside
haha
what a rad comic, thanks for the storytime
>>87915166
I mean there was a time when some comics had such motion and action in their images they LOOKED animated.
Genndy can do that. Not a lot of artists can or bother to these days, poses are easier.
Probably one of my favorite things out right now. I'd love to see Genndy do more comics work.
>>87894450
2 pages in and we're getting smacked in the face with wordplay as subtle as a sledgehammer. I love it.
Has it still got dogshit for art?
>>87918253
have you still got asses for eyes?

Cool strawman

>>87919402
i followed the thread and expected something horrible, now i'm like fucking plebs
>>87919402
How is this not already a 4chan banner?
eh, kinda of loose on the plot department but the art had me in stiches
bretty gud i say
>>87894477
>>87894499
Wait, what's with the cat people? How did he even get kidnapped?
>>87894408
It boggles my mind that people think Genndy's stylized art is bad or worse than 90 percent of the other shit comic out. Even the stuff isn't bad comic art wise is usually very generic looking.
>>87915468
>five years or so
Try a decade.
