Based Kevin Smith made the best episode of Flash to date.

That was pretty great, I didn't buy Caitlin's personality doing a total 180 but the drama it created was good. Very dense episode and I'm always happy to see them ditch the villain of the week.

I know people were complaining about Snow turning evil, but I thought it was handled really well. Her powers just make her become a colder person(pun unintended). She doesn't go and rob banks or kill random people; she just care less about other people to obtain what she wants.

So I get/like the idea of Caitlin's anxiety over the powers making her act rash and out of control. She thinks the powers will make her evil, so she loses it and is willing to do whatever it takes to get rid of them. She starts by lying to Joe and interrogating the guy, and when things don't go according to plan, she freaks out and escalates them even further. That all makes sense and I think is very well done.

What makes NO SENSE to me is the complete change in personality, eg calling everyone pathetic and just being generally cruel to her friends. That all happened way to quick and didn't feel the slightest bit earned.

Barry Allen, unlike any other speedster, or person, in the multiverse, has the capacity to change what is set to be, not through time travel, but through sheer hope.

things that are impossible to change in any way, Barry has changed, this all started with the Anti-Monitor, who was destined to destroy the Positive Multiverse, but Barry Allen's sacrifice changed it.

then with Darkseid in Final Crisis, he once again changed the outcome by helping to defeat Darkseid.

then again, with the help of a fellow avatar of Hope, Pandora (who was the one to introduce Hope the universe/multiverse in the first place) he created the Nu52.

Barry Allen is an agent/avatar of Hope, we have been told this for decades, he even got to wield the emotion element with the Blue Lantern Ring, but his connection is even more Primal than the emotional elemental spectrum.

even in the show, Barry is the only entity that can change the outcome of Vibe's Vibes, even other speedsters such as Reverse Flash and Zoom are inherently slaves to the predictions.

One of the better moments in a crappy S2 was Earth 2, non-meta Barry giving prime Barry a pep talk. I'm all for that in his personality and as a key aspect of his heroism.

However, it would work far better if the show didn't write shit like "Flashpoint" means the hero of the story has his Mother get killed by a psycho so he can restore a time-line AND then have the time line cause the shit storm it's causing here. These are the same writers that decided to kill Barry's dad after supposedly the hero had an entire episode in the speed force to come to terms with his mom's death.

In any event, the entire Barry has no parents, Barry's mom dies, is all a Geoff Johns invention. The Barry that beat the anti-monitor. The Barry that helped out in all these other ways, he had two living parents and he did the hero gig because he thought it was the right thing to do. He didn't a Bruce Wayne Dead Parent's push to move him towards justice.

It's not a split personality like Magenta was. The more Caitlin uses her powers the more she becomes more into being Killer Frost. I do think it's interesting that that's a bigger twist than who Alchemy is. And nobody's even talking about it really. Savitar was there the entire time, waiting for the right moment to spook Barry. It sucks that this is another speedster season, but you can't deny that it wasn't a good twist
