It started happening with Steven's birth, followed with Pearl deciding that staying on Earth with Steven wasn't all that bad. Mr. Greg and Looobxc are another push towards fully moving on from her. If you don't notice this then compare how she interacts with Greg now, there is no resentment left there despite her having spent over half the show keeping her distance from him. She's a constantly developing as a character, just because her biggest problem is centered around Rose doesn't mean that she's a stagnant character.
Those pearlfags who hated the episode hated the mystery girl, I think the mystery girl is an opportunity for her to realize her mistake that chasing after this girl was because she looked like her old flame, and in case this happens, will offer the opportunity for her to truly move on from Rose. You can't just expect someone to be over a person they were devoted to for such a long time, to be over them and moved on after such a short amount of time.

This is mostly wrong, it evolves very slowly from the first seasons then takes a few jumps, because this is a key point of this character all of her actions are made around it, never changing, never moving, this has only moved forward with Mr. Greg, but at any point in between season 1A and Mr. Greg she never changes, that's stagnant.
All in all, everything she does is for rose, and that cheesecakes the shit out of her.

I think you're confusing with being a bad and selfish person with being overall a bad character. Pearl is a troubled character with a complicated history and an even more complicated emotional state that was caused by the loss of Rose. But not only that, it's the fact that she is a pearl that causes her to be that way, she's overly clingy, dependent and unable to do anything if she doesn't have a guide. Rose's death is the trigger, Pearl being pearl is the reason. Pearl's character arc is her struggle to deal with all of this, while also reliving other things like her desire to travel all over space or wanting to show someone ese not fit for battle, like Connie and Steven, that they can also be strong despite not having the physical capacity to become strong.
True, Pearl's bigger arc is about her moving on from Rose, but it's in the mall details that the writers have put into her which in my opinion makes her a good character.

No I'm not, I'm not saying pearl is a bad person, I'm saying she's bland, predictable and it took way too long for her to change her ways, was she troubled? Sure, but it's been around 120 episodes and we're seeing the exact same things even though we've been over them multiple times, that's Pearl's problem as a character.

Except Pearl used to be a bad person exactly because of what you say, that her only goal is Rose and everything she does is because of Rose, but we have seen her develop away from that throughout the seasons.

Because it's all in the subtlety, reading between the lines. You see in one scene Pearl singing about how she wasn't made for fighting. In another scene she makes a mention about how the walking plants don't have a direction now that Rose is no more, another scene where she makes a mention about not belonging to anbody. For Pearl to become understandable you have to connect the dots. It's not just that her character's major flaw is not being able to move on from Rose, it's that her character is made up of many different flaws, while also having some certain admirable traits.

You say it took Pearl way took long to change her ways.. do you mean in the show or do you mean the 14 years it toook her to move on? Because in the show it took her until Rose's Scabbard to start accepting that Steven was there and that Rose would never be coming back again, all throughout the first season we see evidence that Pearl has a strong attachment to Steven despite Steven being the reminded that Rose is gone.

I mentioned earlier that the bigger arc for Pearl is that she has to become independent from Rose. We saw her take the biggest step in Mr. Greg, the 3rd season, in the 4th season we already see her chasing after a human, despite the human looking like Rose, but it's a sign that she has already let go of Rose, in the end this human isn't Rose and Pearl doesn't even treat her like she is Rose.

Besides th fact that she has more going on to her character than just mourning Rose which we will no doubt come to know more of as we learn her backstory.

Now what might make things even better is if Rose does turn out to have been Pearl's owner, which would explain why exactly she is so obsessively clingy to her. But that's, I guess, a story for future episodes.

I don't care if she was a "bad person" as you say, I don't think she was a bad person, that's not the point I'm making at all, and it feels as if you're completely misjudging my views on this character, I'm saying she's boring, not bad, like I said she's an okay character, not as great as people say.

Subtlety is a weak leg to stand on, because it's only been touched on 3 times in the whole show, and on the third episode where it's mentioned she's just a pearl she already has it sorted out, that's not subtle, that's just wasted potential, again, they're just holding it back for when she first joins the gems, which is just boring.

On the show, this could've been dealt with much sooner and much quicker, not rushed mind you, but it would've been better for everyone.

Not quite, not fully at least, it's very clear that she only took interest in the girl because she does indeed look like Rose, but I'll give you that, it's very clear that Pearl won't treat her like Rose, this is one of the things I liked in Looobc, it's the fact that the character is trying something new, that's exciting and interesting, however it's probably not going to end with Pearl moving on from Rose, because all of her issues are from loss, being with a human can only harm her.

An opinion I disagree with because of reasons I already explained.

Except it's never handled as something small about her character. Her entire character is defined by her seeing herself as just a Pearl, her deepest low wasn't Rose's Scabbard, it wasn't Space Race or Sworn to the Sword, it was in Cry for Help because she manipulated Garnet into fusing with her because she wanted to feel strong, confident and complete like Garnet. The issue wasn't resolved at all despite the two agreeing to fuse. The interesting part is that despite Pearl being like this she's still arrogant and thinks that everything she says and does is the correct thing which brings her to clash with Amethyst.

Unlike Amethyst, Pearl covers up her flaws by trying to better herself through sheer hard work. Amethyst, up until recently, remained as a slob, kept kicking herself over the fact that she was born "wrong". Pearl, however, worked hard to become a master swordsman, worked hard to be able to build whatever she had in mind, worked so hard that she became known as the terrifying renegade pearl.

What made her character stagnate was Rose, which is why I don't agree that Pearl is a stagnant character, it is because of Rose and all the time that has passed since her death, that Pearl is a character in constant development. Compare s4 Pearl to s1 Pearl, there is a lot of difference between those two points in her character, not only for Pearl as an individual but also with regards to her relationship with other characters and with humans.

And from my prediction that is the very reason this new character was introduced into Pearl's life. Because in some way or another she will help her definitely let go of Rose, make that final step, whether the relationship ends in disaster or if it's a success, this character serves the purpose to finally close the Rose arc in Pearl's life.

The fact that it "took so long" is just your opinion, I think they handled it pretty well, any other way and it would have felt rushed considering it's already been 14 years and it hasn't even been one year since the show began and now.
