Aracely Penalba a.k.a. Hummingbird (with Kaine the new Scarlet Spider as a companion/champion/guide/cranky older "brother" or friend figure).

Excellent humorous banter between these two and comedy superhero situations in the South and Mexico mixed with a really scary, insane, actually tragic trip (and full on mythological details) into the universe Aztec religion portrayed:

- Mictlan (Aztec Hells) and other strange "paradises" like Tlalocan.

- Weird as fuck AND terrifying as fuck and WTF as fuck pantheon of other gods

- Human sacrifice and blood offerings/magic USED by the villains AND our protagonists.

- Scary monster ladies that devour people in into the infinite night, magicians that appeal to the deity in the dark mirror, etc.

- Scary magic system with Nahuatl incantations that reference blood, hearts, earth, the loss of innocence, the need of revival through self-sacrifice, the balance of life and death, etc.

That's definitely what I feel a good Domino book should go for. Domino as both a stand-in for that kind of teenage invincibility, that pervasive feeling of "Yeah but that's not gonna happen to me because I'm too cool", and also as a thrillseeker who can't get a thrill any more, who's constantly pushing her luck in search of that one golden moment when it will finally fail her and the only thing standing between life and death is her own will to survive. It's been touched on in a couple of issues, but given a longer run I think it could add a ton of depth to her. Not to mention the visual possibilities of increasingly insane action scenes.
