I have no clue why any of you guys are upset. Your ship is all but confirmed. FFS Marco thought of Star while kissing another girl, you got 100% confirmation of jellyStar, it's on for you like donkey kong. You'll have to wait until the end of the series probably for full contact Starco, but the series is basically about Starco and how it happens from this point, so why would you be salty in any way?

I'm not really salty about it since I have hard time believing anything what isn't Starco endgame. They're been building up for it the whole series and Jarco itself is more of a conflict for Star to overcome rather than the final canon ship for Marco. It isn't that uncommon of a trope in romantic drama.

Writers giving mixed signals to kids, Jackie's setting really good examples but Marco's setting really poor ones

Jackie knows despite liking Marco, dating isn't really a big deal and it's a great chance to get to express yourself in order to truly know somebody you're interested in

Marco on the other hand was literally getting away with social suicide by being a creepy little man who obsesses over a girl he doesn't even know in his private life, along with lots of other cringe examples which the show actively encouraged on his part

The main takeaway from all this is Jackie is clearly the best girl and others need not apply.

Both of those issues exist. The primary issue is that nobody really knows what it's like to be a transgender person before you've fully realized and accepted it. Speaking from experience, I was really really angry about being even slightly feminine and tried my best to present masculine before I knew that transgender people were a thing.

The most accepted theory these days is that Marco isn't just in the closet, he doesn't even understand what being transgender is or means. Ok, let's say Jackie is working for the bad guys somehow and is not who she seems. I dint buy this theory at all, but I will pretend that it can be possible for the sake of this post. So how can it be possible? Well the least confusing way I can think off, is that Eclipsa is aware of whatever prophecy Star is involved in. So if she somehow saw the future, she set up pieces on her chest board and ensured things played out according to her designs. To ensure Star begins turning to the darkness, she made sure Marco gave her a reason to give into her jealousy. By making him fall in love with some creature or human she's been controlling since Marco was a young boy.
