It was fucking amazing. The way Superman used his powers against The Elite, and just... everything else about it. Now I want to read more Superman, where do I read? Also, how the fuck do I acquire the rest of Joe Kelly's Superman stuff?
>>
here are a few recs
superman annual number 11
Morrison's Action Comics
Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen
Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane
All Star Superman
Superman:Birthright
Superman Beyond is cool

American Alien

Thanks a bunch,

So was Joe Kelly's stuff good in general or was #775 a gem?

it was pretty good, crossed over with other supertitles a lot though

read action comics #792 and get back to me

Also pick up his Superboy run, it's a fun read

I'd also say to look for Kelly's JLA run too

Same, but I'm a Silver Age fag like him.

I think people nowadays like Birthright because it's a better "modernization" of Superman than Byrne's. More grounded, similar to Batman Year One.

I don't think they need to take stories FROM it, but they can take lessons from the WAY they adapted stories from the comics. Superman TAS took a lot of classic Silver Age stories and adapted them, Batman took a lot of Bronze Age, etc.

I don't agree but I fully respect the stance. Birthright and SO are both high quality comics, and it just comes down to preference. Which is why I'm glad they both exist and as far as I'm concerned they're both canon. Hypertime, I don't gotta explain shit
>>
>>87826275
But they wasn't friends. Clark just met him at siscience fair and Lex was full "don't touch my stuff fucking mong" It was cool. I think it could be perfect to adapt on the screen.

And the Elite don't really lend much credence to their point by flying a giant space alien over the city so they can come down and murder a man of peace.

If it were more balanced, the Elite might have just kept on doing what they were doing until Superman was forced to stop them physically, and therefore the Elite were forced to defend themselves.

Don't lie to people. That's an Alan Moore story featuring Superman. It's got whores, death, everything. All it's missing is Lexiac raping Lois.
>>
>>87837894
That was always one of Superman's things, though. He's not above tricking his enemies to prove a point. Especially in the Silver and Bronze age, a lot of the weirder Superman stories can be taken as him trying to help his friends be better people through weird sci-fi fairy tale logic.

Superman did some weird thing to teach his friends a lesson in the silver age, but he never threatened to kill somebody as a final punch. Especially when he wanted to prove might is not right.
