It's not too unbalanced, for the most part of the series. Marco's got three potential mates: Jackie, Janna and Star. Star has Oskar, Tom and Marco.

It's probably a little more complex now with the ratios and whatever, but Marco's love life has been more of a focus than Stars (mostly because it deals with his character development more than Star's).

It's less about being balanced and more about knowing how this thing usually goes and eliminating obvious dead ends. Ignoring Star's romantic interests for a moment, Marco's got a typical 3 way harem decision tree. He's got The Opposite Sex Best Friend, The Crush, and The Stalker.

The Best Friend branch has the most weight at the start purely from genre convention. The Crush branch usually doesn't go anywhere, but it's being vindicated in recent episodes so it's putting on the pounds as well. The Stalker is just your typical Helga Pataki. For whatever reason, that's also viable (because of those weird genre conventions).

Star has the same archetypes in her tree but two of them are more obviously nonstarters. Her Crush is barely sapient so no one expects him to be endgame, and her Stalker has made more headway in rekindling a relationship with MARCO than with Star. A male stalker isn't nearly as viable as a female one for whatever reason, but anyway all but The Best Friend branch on her tree are either stunted or already withered. The Marco branch is the only one that's growing, and being the only option left on Star's tree basically preempts anything going on in Marco's.

I've watched too much television.

But Star had a relationship with Tom back in time, so is it asking too much for Marco to have his relationship with someone without star interference ?

I think I did, albeit indirectly. The best friend starts ahead of the others, but can be overtaken by other options. This doesn't usually happen, but it springs up as a vague possibility. What killed that idea for Kim Possible was that there WERE no other options, you know, besides a lifetime of loneliness. To have any kind of romantic tension in the movie, they had to make up a love interest for Kim.

The biggest deciding factor in the Kim Bowl was that there was no Kim Bowl. The other teams either didn't show up or showed up so late that they basically lost by forfeit. There was no hope of anyone overtaking Ron, so Ron had to drop his girls so that Kim didn't end up alone. Best Friend status helps immensely, but it doesn't really provide a competitive advantage when there's no competition.

Well, I almost dropped the show early on. It seemed to have no substance, just "lol so random" humor, which felt so childish. Gravity Falls or Phineas and Ferb almost never made me feel like "I'm too old for this shit", but Star vs. did most of the time. I barely made it through the first half of season 1. I don't know what changed, but when I resumed watching it and started to really like it. This is probably accurate. I gave it a chance because Sugar did some episodes I liked in AT, but my expectations weren't all that high. That's an altogether different can of worms... The movie states that the Doctor is half-human, but most people don't take that seriously, even though it still hasn't been 100% debunked.
