I guess earlier, women wore corsets or something to give them that narrow elegant hourglass waist, allowing for the tits, ass and thighs to be juicier. I mean that's why Marilyn Monroe was considered a sex symbol - she was rather thicc and would be considered fat for the screen by today's standards, but her waist was tiny, so she still looked slim.

Nowadays the waist is achieved through just being thin and waifish (or trim and athletic) all over, which gives a different kind of body. The silhouette is different.

I've tried on some vintage dresses sometimes and it's crazy how different the measurements are. The tit department can fit just right but the waists are often insanely tight. Women were shaped differently back then.

Not corsets, but lots of heavy duty shapewear (girdles, corselettes, waspies, long-line bras etc). Having boobs that big while being that thin everywhere else is relatively rare and not sustainable for most actresses. I'm sure that wearing shapewear like that since puberty also made a difference in how fat distributed itself.
