I like it in both, although unless you plan to watch the show with fan subtitles, I've heard it uses the english script even with french voice acting. I haven't watched my purchased DVDs to confirm, though.

to be fair, I find that a lot of the cringiness comes from delivery not just content

so ya reading the english script with french subs would help

The Wakfu cartoon mostly just shares the setting with the game rather than being an adaptation of it, aside from one or two cringy lines and a couple of joke episodes. The biggest gripe with it is that the animation is kind of lacking near the start but it improves very quickly.
