I for one really liked this one, though there's room for improvement.

Don't see why King had to go overboard with the Bendis speak in this one and overtly repetitive in the previous issue.

As for the art, I think it was good apart from the posyness. I mean, when you have characters talking, they should have their mouth open at least some of the time.

Here's where my suspension of disbelief falls apart.

King expects me to believe that non-super-powered terrorists could and would destroy a Wayne-owned orphanage in Gotham City, without being stopped by Batman (or you know, the same Government that prevented any US bombings for fifteen years), and yet were able to have every member killed by Catwoman, who would then be given the death penalty instead of Waller giving her MVP status.

It doesn't make sense, and I don't see any way it could be faked without making even less sense.

I'm not much of a Batfan, so I'm not hugely bothered by the changes to established characters, though I hope King does show there's more going on with Catwoman.
Batman's plan is still a little shaky, but last issue is a lot more understandable, now that it's clear that Batman was trying to delude Bane.

I don't think he's phoning it in per se, I just think King is trying to write a book that's out of his element. He said in an interview at the beginning of Rebirth that he wants this to be like an action blockbuster; well if you look at literally everything else he's written, it doesn't match up. Even Grayson which is arguably the closest had most of its "action" and "adventure" issues written by Seeley with King on the heavy stuff. Ultimately I think the problem is King trying to be a writer he's not. Maybe he felt he had to "dumb it down" for the average Batman reader, but whatever the reason, it happened.

At a guess: Gotham is basically NYC at night (in a shitty neighborhood) while Metropolis is NYC in the daytime (in an upscale section of Manhattan) ... and there IS NO DEATH PENALTY IN NY STATE!

So it doesn't really matter that Joker's "Criminally Insane" because he'd just be getting life either way.

But Federal Law trumps State Law and we DO have Federal Death Penalties for things like Treason ... so if Catwoman went traipsing all around the globe killing people who were citizens of OTHER COUNTRIES then she'd be one of those Enemy Combatant types that they get to ignore the usual pesky rights when dealing with.

Yeah sure but if Batman's plan succeed in any capacity that means Bane doesn't do jack shit for Catwoman. Even if she manages to successfully get off the island, she'll be on Bane's radar for lying to him. If she really is serious about this whole "I need to fuck off somewhere and I'm going to need Bane's help," then leaving Wesker behind is a massive fucking oversight on her part. Wesker is a big part of Batman's plan, not only that but he's also a super criminal. Also, there's no reason for her to give Bane ALL the cards right off the bat, she still needs to exert some sort of control and giving him everything for free wouldn't allow her to do that.

So she's betraying Batman and looking out of herself first and foremost, something common with the character before Ed Brubaker's run.

Have you been reading the story? Bane wanted Punch for a long time because Punch was the only man who managed to escape Pena Duro.
Punch escaped Pena Duro because he's in love with Jewelry.
Batman managed to captured Punch by dragging Jewelry and promising to release both if Punch helped him in his mission.
Part of the mission was to distract Bane by using Bronze Tiger. Bronze Tiger would fake delivering Punch and Jewelry to Bane, so that Bane could finally make an example out of Punch.
The other part of the mission involved Catwoman and Ventriloquist, but Catwoman just now sabotaged the mission.
Bane doesn't care about the Ventriloquist, but he cared about Punch OR in this having Batman's plans of escaping sabotaged.
Catwoman hopes that Bane will be happy enough that she's sabotaging Batman's mission that he'll in exchange help her escape Batman and thus the US correctional system.

I feel like I'm one of the few persons here who liked this issue (and the previous one).

I've got no problem with the dialogues and yes, characters seem to take poses all the time but I really like how Janin draw Catwoman.

I don't like the whole 237 murders because it changes how I see Catwoman (and those 2 more murders don't help) but at the same time, it makes for an interesting setting. I really don't know what to expect from Selina because of it. So I guess I'm okay with it for now.
