It makes me hopeful that Strange really will be the new Iron Man like those rumors ans misquotes speculated.
The fact that they've already set up this guy as a long term multi-film villain with more depth than a sheet of cardboard implies Strange is gonna be real relevant in Phase 4+.

But he's right. If the Ancient One hadn't been drawing on the Dark Dimension's power, she wouldn't have had those ritual books that Kaecilius learned about and stole.

By being a hypocrite she opened the world to extreme danger. She also never offered any real explanation about why she was justified in breaking the rules and using Dark Dimension power to become immortal beyond "it was necessary"/"sometimes you have to bend the rules"/etc.

How is Batman a hypocrite? His position isn't that the law must be absolutely followed. Part of the reason for him taking up the cowl was that the legitimate authorities, the police and city government, were hopelessly corrupt and controlled by the Mob.

Batman is more concerned with protection of the innocent and justice in the general sense, not in perfect obedience to the law. The entire point of his mission is that sometimes the law fails justice and safety, that there has to be something to help when the law can't or won't be there.

Mordo's point wasn't that they shouldn't have stopped Dormammu, it was that the Ancient One with her own meddling with the Dark Dimension was directly responsible for Kaecilius getting hold of that information and putting the world in jeopardy. Not only that, but Strange could have fucked up bad there. Luckily he didn't, but he could have done.

Perhaps having some newbie sorcerer who, whilst being prodigious is hardly at the peak of his powers fuck around with time isn't the best thing to happen?

Mordo's view isn't that stopping Dormammu was wrong, it is that allowing people to be trained in this shit and leaving them to run around unchecked is a recipe for disaster.

He was told and tasked by TAO to guard against people fucking with the Dark Dimension, and it turns out she was doing it the entire time. Nah I can understand why he's pissed. Especially cause of his "Muh rules" shit
