Alright I worked out my idea a little more and this is where I am at. What if the Star Bloodline is related to the 7 deadly sins.
Lust - Eclipsa the Queen of Darkness, decided to marry to a monster out of love even though it was against the rules
Gluttony or Greed - Celena the Shy would have to be one or the other in that in her painting she is shown having several lovers(?) come to her bringing her gifts as she hides behind the wand. The other would be a toss up at this point.
Sloth - Star herself considering she's pretty lazy and very resistant to doing what she should be doing
Pride - Star's Mom in that she is time and time again wanting Star to be something that she can be proud of even if it's not who Star really is
Wrath - Obviously Salaria the monster carver
But here's where things get weird
Envy - Toffee. What if he was the child of Eclipsa and "totally not Trigon" and the reason the war took place in the first place is because Toffee was trying to take his rightful place as the new King of Mewni, but wasn't allowed because he is a "monster". It would explain why he is more obsessed with the crown instead of being obsessed with the wand like Ludo. In a sense Ludo could be Greed, but it wouldn't fit well in my theory as I am more concerned with the Butterfly Bloodline. Unless he was also related to Eclipsa

It is a Disney show, so a happy ending is certainly very likely. However, the ending just being happy is irrelevant to what I was talking about. Even if the ending is positive, Star will have to go back to Mewnie and it's unlikely Marco will follow her back. Whilst their interaction is likely to continue, due to the dimensional scissors, it is unlikely Star will be able to spend much time on earth given the duties she'll likely inherit. As such, Marco will spend much of his time seemingly alone in the wake of Star's departure.

I would imagine that Nerfcy wrote the issue to intentionally avoid the whole time traveling to setup parents in the past plot line in an attempt to show that not all romances need to start in youth.

It's a quite refreshing take on things in all honesty, though I would have appreciated a bit more content to really get the point of the trip across. Perhaps if there'd been more content it could have been good, but nothing interesting really happened. We see Star wanting to help match-make her father with her mother, given how pathetic he looked, we see River being pathetic whilst some other character shows him up and we then see said random character turn out to be some kind of assassin who is foiled more by chance than anything else.

It's an odd case of too too much spread too thin; given the short length of the comic I feel like they could have cut down on some element of the issue and diverted more content to one of the other plot lines.

It was interesting seeing Moon in her youth at least, she certainly seemed levelheaded and capable which is a great contrast to Star and goes a long way in demonstrating the differences between the two and their way of perceiving things.
