This plus her power was boring. Like Tai Lee comes out of nowhere and she's this super talented martial artist who chi-blocks, temporarily neutralizing benders, something that hadn't been seen before in the show, a non-bender posing a legitimate threat to the heroes.

Lone Mai and Cub is a better concept than anything else involving Mai in the actual Avatar canon. Kind of sad when the best thing you're involved is a fictional cartoon fanfic /co/ memed into existence three years ago.

Interesting enough, when the elite earth benders went to fight her and Ty Lee in the episode of the drill, they *conventionaly* only let the audience see Ty Lee dealing with them, while not showing how Mai defeated the others (that were majority), probably because they cant show the bloodshed on cartoon for children.

To be honest, how many times fire bending actually wounded someone? 3?

This said, they could have taken her for a more interesting direction, but I still like her with Zuko.

Kind of hard to taker her seriously when her entire PG friendly fighting style is based entirely around fighting people with clothing long enough to get pinned to walls. She can't just shank some motherfuckers, she has to use her precise and deadly tools of death to very carefully incapacitate people non-lethally. Which honestly takes more skill and effort than just killing them but makes her look much lamer.

The Jet, Sokka and the Blue Spirits had an advantage over the fact that their weapons are more versatille to use on battle, even if they arent show slashing anyone.
