>didn't like Hal because he was a nerd
>liked Bernard

Why?
>>
It helps that Bernard is good looking
>>
>>87599065
No she didn't like Hal because he was an obnoxious, lazy, overweight, manlet sociopathic manchild.

The scary thing about Hal is that so many people like him exist. They don't do any crimes or anything illegal, not because they are moral at heart, but because they feel they don't have the power to get away with it.

Give them the power of Superman and they won't play by the rules because they simply don't need to anymore.
>>
>>87599209
This

Just because someone's an ungly pathetic wreck doesn't mean they're not also a horrible person
>>
>>87599065
bernards got a pretty strong jaw
>>
>>87599065

I don't think it was ever established he disliked him for being a nerd. He was fat and ugly as fuck, and as much as women cry over sexism and objectification, they do the same.

Not that I'm judging her, I can't think of any quality in Hal that could attract a woman. Bernard was nerd, but an hygienic and funny one. Hal, on the other side, I don't think even the women who like fat men would put up with his annoyance.

Well ask yourself this, anon:

Would you fuck his female counterpart, personal and all?

I ask myself this same question. Reminds me why I stay /fit/
>>
>>87599964
Persona** and all.

Sorry added a L there
>>
>>87599546
I'm not sure it was about Hal being fat or ugly. Roxanne wasn't into Metro Man even though he had fame and good looks, and she didn't suddenly become interested in Hal after he got superpowers and an athletic body. Her personality just didn't match with either of them.
>>
>>87600129
She was smart. Hal was a dumb loser and Metro Man was a successful idiot.
>>
>>87599065
She didn't like Bernard. She liked Megamind, who only looked like Bernard.
>>
Fuck I forgot how good this movie was. Why dodn't we ever get a sequel? It's ripe with potential, just imagine all the comic tropes they could use.

No! No more sequels! No more reboots! Hollywood can have these cashout concepts back after they learn to make a movie that's good in and of itself again.

What if like how Megamind's main theme was playing with the formula of superhero movies, Megamind 2 main theme is playing with the formula of audience expectation in a sequel?

How could it fail?
>>
>>87599065
Bernard (Megamind) was acting pretty dorky and cute. Hal acted like some tryhard douche that bitches about friendzone easily. Or if you want to put it more bluntly, Bernard is hotter than Hal.
>>
Hal was probably the most accurate depiction of a horrible manlet I've ever seen. The kind that thinks of themselves as being a hero because of their appearance and inability to get laid, when it's actually because they're just shitty, maladjusted people who don't need to reproduce.
>>
>>87599964
Not that anon, but

I probably would. Doofy, clumsy women are kind of sexy
>>
>>87599614
Roxanne didn't want Metro Man either, and he was attractive, had super powers, and was famous.

>Honestly questioning whether I'm a Bernard or a Hal
Thanks /co/
>>
>>87601097
But Hal was clingy, possessive, and so bad at dealing with rejection that it made him turn to crime and supervillainy. Ever heard of "don't stick your dick in crazy"? A female Hal would be a needy and difficult person. She'd probably end up becoming one of those people who blame the patriarchy for all the hardship in their life.
>>
>>87599065
Hal wasn't a nerd, he was Chris Chan-esque
>>
>>87599614
First the moronic Anon sympathising with the jerk stuck on an island on we bare bears and now this guy.
There sure are a lot of delusional losers here today.

>>
>>87600170
That's not how attraction works. Attraction is something you can't consciously control and can be any bullshit reason, such as smart people or dumb people or whatever.
>>
>>87602106
pretty sure the former or latter only works with 2 options
>>
>>87602317
I was thinking that too but I couldn't decide and just threw it out there
there should be one that says the centre one or the middle or the present
>>
>>87601844
If you are worried about it and if you acknowledge the potential existence of character flaws in yourself, my guess is you're probably doing well enough. At least it shows that you're capable of feeling doubt and doing self-reflection; those are good traits. IMO people who are utterly convinced that they're good persons and doing the right thing are the scariest and most dangerous kind of people in the world.
>>
>>87599065
What the movie was going for is that they were always going to make a great couple. Roxanne didn't like Hal because she thought he was evil as shit. Hal didn't like Roxanne cause he thought she was always Metro Man's girl until he found out later she wasn't. Man you people are so insecure that you go straight to looks.
>>
>>87599065
Did anyone else think Bernard looked uncannily like the lead actor from Sanctuary?

That's semantics.

Wait is that a problem? You're not making your position look better here. That sounds hot!
>>
>>87604369
Only because you don't know anyone like that.
>>
I enjoyed Megamind a lot less after watching Anchorman and realising Will Ferrell only really has one character.
>>
>>87604498
Or they are a person like that. I can see the toxic attraction.
>>87604548
If the writing is sound then it doesn't really matter.
>>
>>87604571
Yeah, but it was pretty jarring when the delivery of every other joke from Megamind was the same as Ron Burgundy's.
>>
>>87604631
Just disassociate from the other movies. Do you feel the same when an actor still looks like himself in other roles? So long as the delivery is fitting in the context of itself it doesn't really matter if the actor has limited range.
>>
>>87604680
Not that anon but yes, some actors just look like themselves instead of the character they're playing which can partially ruin whatever they're in.
>>
>>87599065
Hal looked better, women are not that hard to get.
>>
>>87604369
I really really hope you never find someone like that
>>
>>87604897
But if he does he will change his mind about it and then we get to be right.
>>
>>87601030

Wow I dont remember hin being a manlet but you are right, no matter if they are good people or not or how their personality is, manlets need to die alone simply because they have SHIT genetics.

However I just remember him being fat and a ginger, wich is already pretty bad.
>>
>>87604937
Did a manlet steal the girl you never had any chance with in the first place because of your charming personality? Being fat doesn't necessarily make someone unattractive though that's a matter of taste and some people are ugly no matter their weight, and believe it or not but a lot of gingers are pretty hot.
>>
>>87599614
There's nothing wrong with being shallow. I wish more women were shallow.

The problem is that for most women, being attractive isn't enough. They need to like your personality too.

Seriously, if men were even half as picky as women, the whole fucking species would've gone extinct before we even made it out of Africa.
>>
>>87599065
There's a difference between a nerd and a dweeb. What is this, the 60's? Gonna call me Puny Parker there, Flash Thompson?

Megamind is pretty hot though. Guys always go for the blue/green chicks though they don't have any weird features other than that so why would it be any different.
>>87605386
Keep projecting. Do you want to date every woman you know? Most of the time people just aren't interested, without having any specific reason.
>>
>>87599065
>Didn't like Hal because he was a clingy douche who secretly wanted to be evil but was too wimpy for it and who literally tries to kill people and destroy a city because he can't handle rejection

Most likely Roxanne just could sense what a shit tryhard fake-nice person Hal was.

Also, of course, fat slob vs. trim and hygienic

Metro Man just played dumb; he was actually pretty insightful. Dumb people donĀ“t reach the realization of their lives being stuck and trying to change and pursue their happiness, and certainly no dumbass would be able to fake their own death being such a relevant public figure

I wish you had insulted me so that this picture would be a relevant response.

Either way, "Error 404" and "Game over" aren't very obscure or surprising nerd references, everyone's familiar with them. Hal appears to have a pretty lame fashion sense.

Bernard isn't a smelly, obese basement dweller. He's just shy and not much for social interactions. Also, he has green eyes.

Are we talking about Megamind, or the guy that he was impersonating?

The original guy is a little bit assholish that didnt cared for her pussy.

I wouldn't, no. I want to and try to be a decent person.
