I'm going to try this again and hopefully have significantly fewer fuck ups. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Posted the correct page this time. So sorry about the mixup.
Also in case anyone didn't see the previous disaster thread, my computer is currently in the shop meaning I'm having to constantly switch to different machines to finish this thread. Expect some delays at various points.
Just realized my school laptop doesn't have 4chan x installed and I'm not allowed to modify any of the software. I may/may not be able to individually post the remaining pages of volume 1 tonight. Losing access to my computer is not something I had prepared for.
Found out what was wrong with my computer. Graphics card died on me and the motherboard was freaking about because it was detecting a faulty piece of hardware. Should be getting it back tomorrow but that's not really going to help me much now. I'll try to keep posting as much as I can (with the worst case being this thread will be finished in the morning depending on how much I get done).
>Holy storytime, Batman!!
>Not to worry, old chum. This is why I never leave the cave without my patented BatBump.
Proctoring an exam meow. I've been on campus since 11 this morning. I am so bloody tired. Going to get myself a fruit and yogurt parfait before I leave.
Just had a student say they really liked taking STATS with me. I know this may be a well crafted lie but I'd by lying if I said I wasn't affected by that.

Another fucking issue. Laptop won't let me login so now I gotta go back there campus and figure out why
Sorry to say but I can't get my laptop online. I'm currently posting this from campus and I've typed about thirty different passwords and none of them work. Normally I would just type in my password an log but for some reason my laptop failed to recognize that I have a new password, therefore it keeps saying I need to enter the old one which I no longer have access to. I would ask for someone to take over but I doubt anyone in this thread is that nice. All I can say is if you keep this thread alive till morning I can pick it up, otherwise I'm gonna have to bail because I don't have access to ANY computer at my house.

I know I just said I'm stopping but I literally just started typing every password I have ever used ever and got to the right solution. I'm not happy, but I'm glad I figured it out. Now I gotta drive my ass back home and resume posting lol.
>>87590854
You don't have a wifi password or you're locked out of your computer?
>>87591035
Bump
>>87591077
Anytime I access my laptop I have to type in my username and password (this is the same password I use when I log in to my campus email). The hitch is that whenever I change my password without letting that laptop connect to the school's network, it retains the old password because I didn't receive the update from the school's server. If I had repeatedly used my laptop throughout the semester it wouldn't have been a bid deal but not touching it since the school year started was a stupid move..
It's only one image at a time, but it's better than nothing.

I'd be fucking pumped if I got a pep talk from Alan Scott. Dude tamed the starheart and made it his bitch.
Although I've been "evented" out in recent years, Final Crisis actually feels like the world is ending rather than just having "higher stakes" and calling it an event.
Mary Marvel?!? What have they done to you!?
>>87591609
What are they talking about, "New Aquaman"?
loneliness + alienation + fear + despair + self-worth ÷ mockery ÷ condemnation ÷ misunderstanding × guilt × shame × failure × judgment n=y where y=hope and n=folly, love=lies, life=death, self=dark side
Peeps reading along?
Would anybody be down for me storytiming all of Snyder's run on Batman after Morrison? I think it'd be a really neat to contrast these two highly different versions of Batman.
Is anybody reading along? Bumps would be appreciated.
Never stick your dick in crazy.
I'm reading, anon. Thanks for this. It'd also help if you post the cover for the actual issues, so I know what I'm reading.
Some stuff was changed from the floppies to the TPBs and this is of interest to me.
I wonder how often he dreams of that moment. I'm sure Bane plays it on repeat constantly, but I wonder how Bat interprets it. A terrifying nightmare? A moment of humility? Just another Tuesday in Gotham?.
>>87596094
The covers aren't included. The people that made this wanted the reader to experience a seemingly uninterrupted journey of Batman.
>>87592597
Yeah, sorry. bumping again.
I managed to get 4chanx on this laptop and have sequenced up the remaining pages in this volume. On that note, when I finish the final page of this volume would you prefer me to just keep going till I hit the image limit or to start a new thread entirely with the first image being the cover of the second volume?

Jesus CHRIST.
>>87597654

>>87597705
And that's it, that's where Superman made the wish. Immediately and retroactively granted by the God Machine.

And thus concludes the first volume of Grant Morrison's Bat Epic. I'm going to post the last two pages in this collection and then call it a night. I hope everyone enjoyed. Btw, I'm aiming to start the new thread around 6PM tomorrow.
Stupid sexy Batman. I thought I used to have a wallpaper of this image but I can't find it. Does anybody happen to have one?
I'm a sucker for yellow ovals. Partly why I loved the 1989 costume so much.

I read a theory somewhere that because Metron is the God of Knowledge, merely knowing that you are Metron is enough to become him. Therefore, by bypassing the supposed Minimum, he became Metron.
>>87598146
I get that but this instance is too grounded for me to ignore.
Darkseid finding an equation that proves he is ruler of the world (that only is true when you read it for some reason) makes sense in dumb comic book logic but Rubiks cubes are real things that follow relatively basic algorithms (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimal_solutions_for_Rubik%27s_Cube). There's nothing amazing or special about how they work. It's also blatantly false that "nobody ever did it in less than 18" because if you take a solved Rubiks cube and make less than 18 moves to scramble it you can solve it in less than 18 moves.
>>87598349
that article literally says 18 is the theoretical lower limit for the worst case
>>87595900
Reading, and really enjoying myself.
>>87598493
>In 1998, a new position requiring more than 24 quarter turns to solve was found. The position, which was called a 'superflip composed with four spot' needs 26 quarter turns
Except it doesn't
>>87598536
>It can be proven by counting arguments that there exist positions needing at least 18 moves to solve
>it is not a constructive proof: it does not exhibit a concrete position that needs this many moves. It was conjectured that the so-called superflip would be a position that is very difficult
>In 1992, a solution for the superflip with 20 face turns was found by Dik T. Winter, of which the minimality was shown in 1995 by Michael Reid, providing a new lower bound for the diameter of the cube group
I feel like you're intentionally not reading parts
>>87598578
I feel like you are the one who isn't reading parts because the "Further improvements" section talks about lower move limits and the lowest mentioned there is 20 face-turns.
Regardless of the number of moves the worst case scenario needs to be solved the scene acts like Rubiks cubes are magic and I think that is really dumb.
>>87598700
the scene doesn't act like Rubik's cubes are magic, it's just used to show "hey this guy is hecka smart"
>>87598733
>magical minimum
>number of god
>nope Rubik's cubes aren't magic
Having a guy say one thing and them contradict what they were saying doesn't make them smart, just inconsistent.

>>87597850
>>87597855
Doest somebody have post from 4chan about Batman being God of Darkness and all staff? It's about Bruce became lord of shadows so people woun't be afraid of the dark, because he mastered it. It's also about him killing Darkseid or smth. Damn it was so beautiful, but I've lost it.
>>87598858
the God number is a real thing and linked in the article you postedalthough it's 20, not 18
The rubik's cube shit is part of a greater multiverse final crisis bullshit meme, that our most gracious OP storytimed a few days ago.
I don't actually care enough to skim the pages to find all the references again, but
>>87489815
>>87493695
one or both of these had it.
>>87598902
Obviously there's a minimum number of moves to solve a problem. I guess my issue is that the page acts like there being a minimum is somehow significant. It being the wrong number is just icing on the cake
>>87598924
I read those a while ago but don't remember there Rubik's cube stuff. I'll check them tomorrow.
Thanks OP for the storytime.
>>87598867
Doesn't sound accurate.
The implication of Morrison's run is that Bruce's entire life, and possibility the entire history of planet earth was created specifically to generate him as a worthy vessel for Darkseid. Hurt describes his plans in RIP in exactly the same terms (the ruination of a proud and noble spirit) as Goode describes Darkseid incarnating into Turpin. Then Darkseid unleashes the Hyper-adapter, which is specifically designed to change history. Several times throughout the run, we get Bruce investigating whether a bunch of things going on his life are connected - axis chemicals supplying his villains, it merging with Ace implying a connection to the creation of the Joker. - and we find out later that Axis was sold by the Kanes after Hurt paralysed Roderick. Hurt even says he hired Chill!
Then in the post-Hurt sections, we get Talia wearing Hurt's clothing and try to blow up a bunch of cities with an experimental explosive that'll blow holes in the planet. Holes like this:

My fucking sides
I'm personally stoked for the next upcoming volume more so than this previous one because almost all of Dickbat's stories are fantastic. Dick and Damien were the best dynamic duo in recent memory. Bruce and Damien never really sat right with me and I didn't experience enough of Bruce and Tim to get a good feel for the characters. Bruce & Carrie and Bruce & Terry are also good combos

>>87604042
I got into comics late. Based upon what I've been exposed to those are the my preferences. Would you care to recommend any quinsential Bruce/Time or Bruce/Dick stories? I've more or less read everything Damien, Harper, and Duke have been in. I've managed to see some Bruce/Tim (but it was late in their career). Don't have any reference for Bruce/Dick other than their relationship in Graphic Novels and BTAS.
>>87604438

"the world isnt fair, so he would make it fair"
>>87599011
Darkseid says that Bruce would've resisted his will for too long (which is why Turpin was prime instead) hence the hyper adapter was meant to alter things in such a way that Bruce wouldve been a weaker man and less able to resist Darkseid's will, right?
>>87591528
Hey kids! Do YOU remember the Alpha Lantern Oath?
... What's that? You say you never bothered cause the Alpha Lanterns were used in maybe 5 stories tops and their oath was used 3 times in all of existence?
Why ... That can't be true. There's no way we'd make a big group idea like this so underused and forgettable ...
