There's nothing cute or comf about watching some poor nice girl pine over a guy so hard but unable to confess, to the point where she was literally sabotaging her own chance by telling him to pursue a different girl, then she finally kisses him only to run off and die a meaningless death leaving him heartbroken and confused.

I think Whitley might be the favoured child since he's the only one Jacques has a photo of on his desk.
