Just needed a good hard dicking. Just shove it all in her pussy and cum until she leaks your baby batter.

I couldn't tell if Winnie was meant to be portrayed as a child venting her frustrations over familial neglect in an unhealthy fashion, or if she was just an honest-to-god sadomasochist.
>>
This character made me almost as uncomfortable as Darla Dimple.
>>
>>87554956
I thought she was hilarious, but I was kind of, flabbergasted? That Laika would write a child-character like that?

A bit of both. She just has daddy issues and a need to express herself in a way that will set her apart from the white noise her father relegated her to along with the rest of the non-cheese world.
>>
>reminder that in the original concept art she was THICC from all that cake

she's only slightly pudgy in the final version sadly

Been a while since I've seen it, but she was a young, non-villainous, character acting aroused by the idea of things like cannibalism.

Fair enough. Her father could have gotten a bit more of a redemption arc for as pompous as he was all throughout.

If Freud got his hands on her he'd be the happiest man alive. She is probably the "realest" character in that entire movie. Her history of repression, need for attention, and lack of supervision have led her to some serious tendencies towards promiscuity and interesting ideas towards sex. It ends up being her strength and in the end her father embraces her for who she is. She's relatable for a lot of girls I know, and she's one of my favorite characters.
>>
Only five 34 pics, and most of them are drawn by Simon which means she looks way too skinny

I wouldn't say that the start didn't have fun moments, but the final act really is what made it memorable. Probably one of my favorite sequences in animation.

I think all the Laika films accomplished something different.

Coraline had my favorite style and overall sense of atmosphere.

Paranorman had my favorite closing conflict and resolution.

Boxtrolls had the most natural character chemistry and tonal sense of humor.

Kubo had the best environments and action sequences.

He never called her a coward. He said that she was acting like a bully. And that taking her rage out on innocent people because of something terrible that happened in the past wouldn't solve anything.

I was just thinking about Winnie earlier today and then I see this thread. Scary.

Particularly the quote

I really liked the musical sequences that were just Coraline exploring without dialogue, but I wouldn't have minded some kind of reprise of Other Father's song.

I'd kill for a full version of that song. Love They Might be Giants. Amazing how the regular actor for the dads sounds so much alike to the singer.

I really hope that Laika returns to some atmospheric horror-themes for their next project.

The aunts in Kubo were great, but didn't get quite enough focus.
>>
Still waiting for the announcement on what there next film is going to be. They've said that Wildwood was in development before, but in that Travis Knight interview
>"Our next film does not feature a child protagonist. I don’t even know that there are any children in it at all. I wouldn’t say it’s adult-oriented. But it’s a different kind of a film for us. It’s still intended for families, but it’s a different kind of a story."

Doesn't Wildwood have child protagonists?

>>87555991
I guess the concept art does look more "ghostly" but I like the movie-version just fine.

Was never a huge fan of outright slasher movies like Freddy and Jason personally.

I'd probably look into whatever Laika's doing next, but I can't really picture them aiming for an R rating.
>>
>>87556165

Who said they need to do something R-rated. Coraline was pretty damn creepy for something rated PG.
>>
>>87556202
Coraline was based on a dark fantasy children's book. I'd assume that an adaption of Nightmare on Elm Street wouldn't be aimed at kids.
>>
>>87556215

Still, not like you couldn't make something as creepy and thrilling while keeping it below R. Might push into PG-13, but it's not like good horror can only be R with gore and blood.
>>
>>87556215
I wouldnt mind seeing Laika take on making a Goosebumps movie.

I love the movie to pieces but I have friends with kids who really regret showing their kids that film.

I agree. I loved Coraline and Paranorman for that reason.

I was saying that a film like Nightmare on Elm Street specifically seemed like too violent of a source material for Laika to want to adapt. There style doesn't really fit the slasher genre.
>>
>>87556277

Outside of a few scenes, I really never found anything that scary about it, and I'd have probably felt the same if I had been a kid when it came out.

Any girl with an interest in "creepy" or "weird" things and sufficient time will eventually a create a drawing like this.
>>87555683
It's just not new to me. Plus, it's tonally inappropriate. A character driven mad with rage shouldn't be wispy and translucent.
>>
>>87556290
I still think the bit where Other Wybie's face was sewn up into a smile was pretty heavy for a younger audience.

There's no blood or anything, but dear lord...
>>
>>87556298
Pretty young at the time. Five, six?
>>
>>87556307

Why not? She's a ghost, ghosts are usually wispy looking. She may have been far more powerful than any of the spectors Norman was used to seeing, but she still a spirit nonetheless.

I could see all the movies getting games. While I know Coraline did get one, it was pretty meh for a tie-in. Coraline should have been more of an adventure game like Monkey Island with puzzles, but with the chance to die like in some classics like King's Quest.

A ParaNorman game could have been like a more kid friendly Silent Hill, with Norman having to traverse twisted parts of the town whenever Aggie's influence became overwhelming to him.

Not sure what a Boxtrolls game could be like, possibly a traditional action-adventure with an open world to traverse and collect stuff in for the trolls.

Kubo could have made for a cool Genji-style game where you travel through stages based on the film and fight monsters sent by the Moon King. And I mean the original GOOD Genji game, not the crummy PS3 sequel.

>>
>>87556282
There's much more to those movies than just killing. The way Freddy's legacy haunts Springwood even after his death, he has his own nursery rhyme etc

And he isn't just a mindless slasher villain, he torments people in their nightmares, playing with them.
You could easily do that without showing blood or gore.
