Years of plot and character development flushed down the shitter because the author was too damn intellectually lazy to be bothered to stick to the continuity and world building he made.

Why do reboot defenders always say this? Literally no-one says that the old comics "stop existing". The problem is that there aren't going to *be* any more of the old comics (which are the ones we liked), and that the new comics have a 90% probability of being watered down casual trash stripped of everything that made them likeable in the first place in order to appeal to as many people as possible.
Although in this case people don't want to go through another 5 years of flirting to *maybe* get a kiss in 2021.
