There've been only seven reviews so far. There's no way it'll be that acclaimed. I'm betting it'll only be about a 70-80 percent rating.

They still have to get to Frozen 2 and WiR 2, give it time. WiR 2 is coming 5 1/2 years after the first, so it'll probably be around 2021 for Zootopia 2.

Same thing we said about Zootopia, I was expect a 85 to 88 but we got a fucking 98%.

Sausage Party was meh and even that got a fairly high score, but that was more of a Deadpool effect.

Early reviews are a tempermental thing. While a 7/7, 7.3/10 might be a good sign for something that isn't expected to do well, it's less encouraging for a big-name company that knows how to target early critics that would give positive reviews and that is likely to have die-hard fans who seek out the new releases early.

>Zootopia 2 is dead.
How do you gather this from a movie getting good reviews?
>>
>>87546952
Moana's success doesn't spell doom on Zootopia 2. They're both profitable and successful IPs. In fact, more earnings will guarantee they can make more movies.

Besides, Disney has been cranking up sequel announcements for their past movies. There's the Tangled and BH6 TV series, WiR 2, and Frozen 2.

Zootopia was a surprising hit, especially in Asian markets. Disney will definitely follow up on that.

This song "We Know The Way" really pushed me to make a decision to buy the O.S.T.

All those chorus lines Polynesian singing are literal moonspeak to me, but it's ok, still very good healing music.

>>
>>87546952
This is just their next princess movie. Spring 2016 was dominated by live-action Jungle Book, Civil War, and Zootopia. Each netted major returns.

They're not going to cancel Zootopia if they know they'll make a profit, because they didn't cancel the first movie when it came out next to two other Disney-owned moneymakers. This is stupid reasoning.

Ironically, Let it Go is the first memorable Disney movie song since... uh... since... I'm inclined to say Hercules with From Zero to Hero? So 1997? That's a long fucking time.
>>
>>87558181
No! Wait, Mulan's I'll Make a Man out of You, so 1998, still a long time. Allmost all of the 1990's features had at least one great song, then starting with Tarzan, which was still a good movie, it went down hill musically.
>>
I watched it this weekend. The music is great and it was a very fun movie. Felt a little rushed at times, but a stronger princess musical over "Frozen" for sure.

We basically saw a set-up. Judy and Nick are now police detectives and their relationship is established. This opens the door for their relationship to grow and for us to see them solve more crimes together. This is pretty much a perfect sequel platform. As long as you can think of a crime, you can make a movie. They can have a shitload of movies like Sherlock or Columbo or Poirot, or even Dirty Harry, Beverly Hills Cop or Lethal Weapon.

You are a moron. Predators were not second class citizens. They were not viewed as inferior. They weren't even viewed as dangerous: when Judy's father gave her the anti-fox shit it was country bumpkin fox-rabbit prejudice. Merryweather wouldn't need to devise an intricate plan to introduce social discord if antagonism already existed. Racism in one thing, but imagine there would have been a race with the ability to go criminally insane at the drop of a hat, seemingly without any cause or reason. It would not matter what they were prior, now they are potentially extremely dangerous. That is not at all a parallel to racism, you dumb dense fuck, that's closer to werewolves or a Jekyll/Hyde situation.

ALL OF IT!

Whatever, what I'm saying is that the shit she got is much more likely to be rookie hazing or the rookie getting used to stuff holes in understaffed units than species discrimination.

>>87559788
The Rock hasn't been a big draw for a while now. He's charismatic, but weak as an actor and his wrestling fame is fading.
>>
>>87559563
The white man.
>>
>>87559846

let me tell you bluntly:

Bogo wanted to get rid of her ASAP because he thought she was a fucking nuisance.
>>
>>87559846
>The Rock hasn't been a big draw for a while now
Anon his draw has never been as big as it is now. He is the highest grossing actor in the world at the moment, he has not had a flop since Race to Witch Mountain.
>>
>>87559000
I'm talking about the fact that the voice clips were from an underaged voice actress, causing controversy.
>>
>>87559846
>his wrestling fame is fading.
That's because his acting fame is rising. Dude is still an insanely huge draw probably even more than when he was popular in wrestling.
>>
>>87559911

He's Hulk Hogan of 2010
>>
>>87559846
>what I'm saying is that the shit she got is much more likely to be rookie hazing or the rookie getting used to stuff holes in understaffed units than species discrimination.

except for the parts where characters literally stated otherwise.

>>87559723
But the movie wasn't about that

both main characters had to overcome prejudice in order to achieve what they want, the main villain was both prejudiced and a victim of prejudice, and there was even a side-lesson about not being hypocritical.
>>
>>87559846
>I know we hired you to be our new manager, but if you could just work as the janitor for an undetermined amount of time, because we've never had a rabbit manager and I was forced to hire you, that would be great, thanks
Do you not see how that's an issue?
>>
>>87558673
This.
>>
>>87559928
He's more like the new Stallone or Schwarzenegger. Really charismatic muscleman that people love.
>>
>>87559846
I don't know where you've been anon, he was the highest drawing international actor last year, and Forbes has him as the highest paid actor in Hollywood over people like J. Law and Affleck. Rock is a money maker right now, and I guarantee Moana is gonna sell
>>
>>87559962

>Stallone
>charismatic
>>
>>87559887
>>87559911
>>87559968
Seriously? Maybe I'm old. I liked Schwarzenegger as a kid and I still like his movies, but I never was much into the Rock. He certainly can't carry a movie like Arnie did. So basically he's only big because movies with him make money in a consistent manner?

>>87559968
Young Arnie's charisma was on another level. And Stallone is actually pretty fucking smart and a good actor. I don't think you can really compare them fairly.
>>
>>87560085
>So basically he's only big because movies with him make money in a consistent manner?
The other way around his movies make money because he is big. He has a way to draw people to his movies, I think it's because people just like him as a person. With social media people see him more and he posts personal stuff and is very charismatic. People just love him so they see his movies, their is a reason his movies started making way more money when he started getting active on social media
>>
>>87560039
You must be 18 or older to browse this website

Stallone acts dopey but that dopeyness made millions, people loved that fucker
>>
>>87560085
In fairness, Rock only came into superstardom recently. I kept up with him after he left WWE and he floundered for years with shit movies like Doom
and Tooth Fairy

That one he did where he was a football player with a bastard kid turned his career around though
>>
>>87558382

I honestly can't believe they were okay with him singing. I mean maybe that's the point.
>>
>>87560245
He sang when he was in the WWE, part of his stick as a heel was that he would sing a song about how much the city he was in sucked. So Lin Manuel Miranda went through all of that tape and wrote a song exactly within his range.
>>
>>87558308
>having taste THIS shit

Please go
>>
>>87560284
>So Lin Manuel Miranda went through all of that tape

If that's true, it's pretty fucking amazing then.
>>
>>87560369
I doubt it was all of it, but in the interviews for the song it says that the went through clips and all that to get a sense of his range and what kind of beat he can keep.
>>
>>87549504
Now there's an untapped resource!

Something like 40-50 million Christmas cakes just itching for a husbando.
It's the market of the future, gentlemen!

LOL. That's savage right there. Release the film about native people on the holiday that signifies them making a grave mistake by helping out the people who would later slaughter them and steal their land. That's like a Holocaust movie being released on Hitler's birthday.

This song is fucking great. I hope we get more Maui songs than this, because I could listen to the Rock for hours.
>>
>upcoming movie with 7/10 score
>movie with 8/10 score is "BTFO"

People really need to stop thinking the 100% means 100/100 score average.
>>
>>87561773

yah, this movie will gross another 800m for disney. RT score means jackshit.
>>
>>87561714
He only has one.
>>
>>87561842
Only if it does well in Asia as well. Chinese, Koreans and Japs tend to see southern Asians and Islanders as lower lifeforms, so it's not a given. And the Rock will be dubbed over.
>>

that's a hurtful stereotype.

That reminds me: What's Moana's moral going to be? They've been subverting the whole "if you dream enough, it'll come true" thing since PatF.
>>
>>87562637
>They've been subverting the whole "if you dream enough, it'll come true"

Literally the only movie to do this was Monsters University. Tiana, Rapunzel, and Anna & Elsa all had their dreams come true so I don't know what you're talking about.

"moana finding her true identity" , you can put there any rebel kind of princess
>>
>>87562674
Not by just passively dreaming is what I mean. Tiana put in years of work to earn enough to get her restaurant. Rapunzel had to go against almost two decades of emotional abuse, so that she could get the courage to step outside. Anna and Elsa... well, you got me there.
>>
>>87558517
Thx for posting this, based anon.
This song moved me to tears. Sounds good, just good.
I've just found out that Moana has big potential to be ranked with the GOD-tier musical films like Mary Poppins and Annie.

DISNEY MAKES ANIMATION GREAT AGAIN

That'd be interesting though. The water is nice to Moana, but that doesn't mean that it's good or evil. It's a force of nature.
>>

What's the source? Comic looks cute.

So the same as the Walking With Dinosaurs movie?
>>
>>87558814
Finding Nemo is Pixar's 4th most successful movie in the US. Only Inside Out, Toy Story 3, and Finding Dory made more money.

Worldwide, it's #3.

Adjusted for inflation, it's #1.

I don't think you realize how popular Finding Nemo was.
>>
>>87553426

Zootopia actually wasn't expected to be a bigger hit than Frozen. It was supposed to a smaller tier Disney fiom. Successful but not that big. I am honestly surprised it became such a hit. I didn't think a Disney film could match Frozen, at least not for another decade. I remember prior to release no one really talked about it until the trailers came out; Frozen was even worse though in that department.

>>
>>87567244

Many were probably mine tbqh. I don't remember this film having much reception on Disney forums or here. Everyone just thought it'd be a moderately decent, mid tier Disney film inbetween the big guys. Then again, we didn't know anything about it for a long time. If the collar plot had been leaked I am sure people would have mentioned it more.
