I'm an adamant fan of this show, been defending it since day one, but this was the worst episode by far. Besides that twist at the end and all of Mon-el's screentime, it was just a bore without any of the charm it normally has. Disappointing, hope it returns to form next week.

Am I the only one who thinks that it turns out Alex is actually going to be a version of Kate Kane?

Supergirl plays around a lot with identity and it seems like they're pushing that this season(Lena Luthor being another example - she's not a "real" Luthor either).

I can see some reveal like it turns out her Dad is actually working with Cadmus. Like it honestly feels like they may as well just pull a Skye/Daisy with her and have her be the Goddamn Batwoman. Granted the show is already getting a bit Supergirl & Friends but if they smush the universes they could always do a Birds of Prey spin-off to replace Arrow which is getting stale.

I don't think they necessarily have control over the entire Batfamily, just that it's very difficult for them to set up the Batfamily without them. Still they've used Huntress, Ra's and Talia Al Ghul, etc., and they even had the rights to do a Harley Quinn/Arkham Asylum arc before the Suicide Squad movie meant they had to drop it(I can see them potentially reversing this if SS doesn't perform well on DVD - a Gotham Sirens show or BoP/Sirens mashup could do pretty well).

Not really. Intergang got their weapons from Darkseid and that made sense in that story line (as part of Darkseid's over-all plans). Here it was just three randos (and pretty stupid ones at that) only one of whom was given an actual name in the credits, and that was "Chet Miner" - that didn't ring a bell and he doesn't come up on any DC Wikia or other searches I did.

You're reading way too much and try to find too many coincidences.

Lucy Lane is a the daughter of a General (as is Lois, for that matter) and she's already been introduced in the show but apparently she's likely not to appear again, unless they do give more screen time to Superman and decided to also bring over Lois, and even then, it's pushing it. They might use her, in the future, if the DEO needed some military connections, at most.

The Danvers in this universe have already been shown to have non-military backgrounds.

The mention of Gotham was just a wink, Easter Egg type thing.

Maggie is a Superman supporting player, so moving her to National City was just something they did, I wouldn't bring too much into it, other than perhaps DCW people asking WB to ask Fox (if necessary and I doubt it since Batwoman was never used in the Adam West tv show), for permission to bring Batwoman over to National City, even if just for a two-parter.
