Mordo sees that the bargains and compromises create a cycle. In order to prevent bad, sorcerers use magic to kick the can down the line and let someone else deal with it.

I can understand as far as Mordo being concerned with giving power into the hands of people since people are fickle, however his problem is in thinking that simply because the human world lacks conduits for other dimensional entities to manipulate everything will just stop happening.

Everything will still be happening around them, they just won't know about it until it's too late.
