Well citizen boycotts are a consumer right. If you say some stuff that the majority doesn't like, you do have to deal with the consequences, at least until you can convince the majority to agree with you.

God, I've caught myself doing this.

I used to test printers for HP for ten bucks an hour.
It was mostly sitting in a room, with an array of printers, watching them print for hours at a time. Sometimes one of them would jam, and you'd have to fill out a very elaborate piece of paperwork logging the jam in detail. Shit was elaborate and convoluted as fuck, and that was one of the easier jobs!
Other people had to mark ink testing, or power switches, everything right on down to the drawer that held the paper had to be extensively tested and painstakingly recorded.

Literally every single piece of hardware and software put into those things had hundreds of man-hours designing and testing them. EACH. I have always hated it. Other anons have mentioned the 'smug' aspect. That alone wouldn't be too bad, but there's so many other things that irritate me.


This is a guy that continues to adopt the posture of knowledge-ability, even when taking (joking?) about subjects well beyond the field of his expertise. Have you seen him when he tries to talk philosophy or literature? It's horrifying.


There's also this nasty vindictive streak that runs through everything he does. Violence against people you dislike or disagree with isn't a punchline -- it's a juvenile, and cheap.

His reliance on academic in-jokes and call outs is every bit as a bad Seth McFarlane's reliance on pop-culture reference. In both instances it's simply lazy writing.


Worst of all,I can see nothing in this comic that benefits from the fact that it is, ostensibly, a comic. He never uses any of the tools of the medium beyond the most basic timing. As far as I can tell, the only reason he uses panels and stick figures, is so that he can frame his insipid little blog in dialogues -- not because he's any better at writing dialogue (he's not) but because it gives complete rhetorical control without having to be a decent essayist.

He fails as a humourist.

He fails as an artist.

He fails at the comic medium.

He fails at just about any subject he did not major in.

XKCD is not a comic; it's the smug blog of a bitter thoughtless jackass, who consistently mistakes his subjective experiences for truth.

Republicans in Congress have said that they will begin impeachment proceedings as soon as she takes office. If they can then manage to repeat the process with Tim Kaine, they will be able to take the presidency for the Speaker of the House (maybe Paul Ryan, though he's been in trouble because of his opposition to Trump so he might be replaced as speaker come January).

Trump and Bernie became popular because there was no change.
But they want it even more now than ever.

Clinton will win in all likelihood and she's incredibly status quo.
That need for change that grew from Obama's movement and evolved into Bernie madness will continue to gain momentum.
