Personally, from what I've seen it's actually an alright show with decent comedy, but a jarring peeve is that it's way too fast-paced. It might work for a child's mind, and I understand that this is how it was as a short, since they had to compact it into three minutes or so, but, for me, it makes watching it a little awkward.
>>
>>87536268
It appeals to my subtle dumb sense of humor, like how they pronounce business as "buisness".
>>
My biggest complaint is the sword designs are shit. If your going to make a show about magic swords make cool swords. Don't be lazy and slap a hilt on random crap and call it a sword.

>>
I think it has a lot of potential. There are people on this board who have a hatred of it that makes me think they're Newgrounds alums from when the creators made a lot of enemies there. Unfortunately CN doesn't, I think, have a lot of faith in the idea and isn't going to give it the budget or energy Adventure Time got, which is a shame because I'd love more fantasy adventure shows on TV that don't degrade into the storyboarding team's issues with sex.
>>
>>87536268

EXACTLY THIS >>87536786

Kyle's a flawed artist but art has some fun energy to it and while he's not a very good illustrator, his drawings excel when he's telling a sequential story. Animating his stuff in boringly on model Flash (or ToonBoom whatever) tweens just doesn't work; this shouldn't be a "talky show".

I can't even be fucked to care about the writing but I doubt I'm missing literary genius here
>>87536859
It's annoying that hating on Kyle has become a meme because there are very legit criticisms to direct towards his work but people just do it because they feel they HAVE to hate him. Just like with John K (funnily enough they hate each other).

A lot of his aesthetic decisions feel like a shallow imitation of Shotaro Ishinomori's super-cartoony art. I'm almost 100% convinced that's where he got the way he draws bodies from since he's a huge tokusatsu fag.
>>
>>87536997

The arms and legs that get thicker as they go on, the huge hands, the simple torso, the general way in which stuff is stylized. It feels like everything he draws has that as a template and he just morphs around the proportions depending on the character.

Not always mind you but often enough that it becomes very noticeable

Oh and I wouldn't be whining at all if the show was as fully animated as early Star.

Star becoming a talky show instead of an animation show was depressing too.
>>
>>87537146
A lot of his illustrations make it look like he's turned drawing "wacky dynamic loose art" into a robotic process.

I think he's pretty good at drawing comics, and FAR better at it than drawing illustrations. When he's telling a story he can get across more specific emotions with more unique poses & expressions.

Now if the cartoon had this looseness it would be a huge breath of fresh air for a channel full of boring art and animation like CN. But instead it had to have faggot ass tweens.
>>
>>87537147

>>
I'd like to put my MIGHTY MAGISWORD up in Vambre's thight little ass.
>>
The characters are designed to be animated in the Ren and Stimpy style, but instead have puppet flash shit going on.

The gimmick of the swords seems too shallow to ever deliver death. I know thats how we all felt about Adventure Time, but this is a stretch

It feels aimless, like trying to do too many things at the time: is it supposed to be parodic? action packed? sexy? dumb? Yes, everything. It feels desperate at a glance (Ive only seen 3 or 4)

I am still struggling to understand why is it possible for shows like El Tigre to combine cartoony wackiness with admirable humor at an acceptable pace whereas shows like Mighty Magiswords are an unwatchable mess.

Apparently Magiswords were Kyle's brainchild for years before the first animated proposal has been forwarded for CN to greenlit, yet the final product has little to show that it indeed has been the case.

>>
>>87538502
I would not compare the two shows.

If anything, it's akin to a better Johnny Test

It's not bad, but it's real problem is that it is too face paced. All the jokes are delivered like it was mentioned for a 3 minute animated YouTube short rather than an 11 minute carroon, yet it drags on at that pace for the full episode
>>
>>87536268

That isn't controversial, because John K is a douchebag.

The controversial bit is Kyle chimping out at the sight of his show being criticised by an internet nobody, which is pretty much the reason as to why Kyle made fun of John K in the first place.

It's like someone took a good show and sped it up by 25%. It has promise but they gotta slow it down. When your witty dialogue is going by so fast it all cascades into itself and completely blows by the viewer, it's pointless.

Also I get the feeling it'd be way better if they totally relied on the visuals to convey what type of sword it was, as opposed to giving each sword an introduction.

>>
>>87537178
I kind of agree here. This cartoon would be a nice change of pace and and good way to break the current incestous homogenized art styles all the other CN shows currently have, but it needs way more of an investment than a shoestring budget. If CN weren't such jews it could actually be pretty good.
>>
>>87536268
Meh

Could see it being better or worse. They should tone the speed down. Good wafius
>>
A big problem is that this show's universe has no rules. Without rules, I can't get invested.

Adventure Time (what MM is mostly inspired by) had enough of that post apocalyptic touch to imply a deeper history. It was random a lot of the time, but in the same way Fallout can be- these are the bits of society that survived.

Regular Show, Clarence, Gravity Falls, OtGW, Steven Universe, pretty much everything else (that's successful) this generation has some sort of rule system in place, from the wacky to the mundane. But Mighty Magiswords just doesn't have that.
>>
>>87536268
For all I have seen, it is a disliked show. People like the rapeghost, though.

>>87536268
Not that great. Not terrible. Maybe "ok". Maybe a little lower than "ok".
>>
>>87550443
Like I said before >>87549897, the show doesn't have any rules. Shows can either be mundane and/or fantastical, slice of life and/or lore driven, comedy and/or drama, but the show has to establish a working rules for the show and follow it.

Take Clarence and EEnE for example. Both are slice of life comedy shows starring three boys (smart/clean, crazy, and leader) that take place in our mundane world, and besides a difference in time period generally follow the same rules. Now EEnE is more surreal exaggeration from pre-internet days and Clarence is more the feeling of looking up to your parents and their actions, but generally neither break the rules of the world they develop.

AT had none of that shit for several episodes.
And originally it was subtle hints that didn't do shit to ground the show in any sort of "reality".

Magiswords had like, what? Six episodes?
I mean, I get what you're saying. But Roadrunner cartoons didn't need a DEEPER STORY to be memorable. They were just funny.

Magiswords is sometimes funny. And then it shoots itself in the foot by not giving you even a second to laugh before they rush into the next joke or joke attempt.

The show is too fast-paced. Like others I think it could work for younger kids but I haven't actually checked.

>>87553411
Adventure Time had hints of post apocalyptic stuff from the very intro onward, though admittedly the first noticeable one I can remember is the business men that were frozen in ice.

having a story/lore =/= having rules.

Roadrunner sure as hell had rules. Wile E Coyote had a goal and a methodology of reaching that goal. He didn't just pull a gun out and shoot the bird, and Roadrunner never did the same. Their interactions followed specific patterns and each of them played the part we expected of them. We suspend our belief that there are easier ways to catch the Roadrunner, and we accept that Roadrunner likes to play with Wile E Coyote and screw him over rather than doing the smart thing and running away.

The problem with Magiswords is that there are no rules for the swords- some are silly enough to not fit a serious series, but without grounding in some sort of rules and expectations to then break the comedy doesn't work.

Nah. That's just the creator's style of humor.

>CN needs new content
>"hmm internet canary is shit but the artists are popular"
>"oh look the ones doing porn are even more popular"

so now we have fetish shows or shows that look like something my retarded autistic brother draws

they're cheap labor, and if a kid doesn't watch it, some autistic faggot who jerks his dick to a foot or vore will

Is there anywhere to download the other set of online shorts that aren't on kisscartoon?

It's waaaay too fast. The episodes seem pointless. It's like Teen Titans Go but with even less substance.

TTG usually has slow and fast points during an episode where you can take in what's happening on the screen fully and fully enjoy a joke.

Magiswords feels more like it's constantly trying to get to the next punchline while also having nothing really substantial on the screen. Plus, there's also the narrator that yells out stuff at least 10 times an episode because the viewer has to understand what sword their using or where the characters are.

Even Adventure Time and Johnny Test has some breathing space between fights and such.

I think it would be better if they made the siblings' have less weapons for the viewer to remember and if they also had to establish scenes without using the narrator.

I'm sorry, but I do not want torrents, I hated them. That's why I only download stuff on MEGA instead.

It's a silly, fun show

way too fast paced
annoying main characters
the swords are designed like shit, and act more like magic wands than swords
random musical numbers with accordions because that's what kyle is into
the 'sword for every occasion' thing gets old really fast, but to add insult to injury they have that narrator announce the name of the sword each time one is pulled out
>>
vambre is cute but she sounds too regal, like a queen or some shit
