I really wonder what it is about popular or big ships that so often turns the shippers into smug asshole bullies. A fandom could try to have a "ship and let ship" mentality for max comfiness, but noo, the people with the most of everything, onscreen interaction, romantic hints, fannish content feel like it's not enough and they have to shit on others as well.

Surreal episodes don't work when there isn't a foil, plus the entire thing basically resolved itself.

Marco episodes don't work without him learning or changing something and 'I'll make up with pony head' is something we've been over at least five times before.

In essence, not only was the writing bad, the very premises of were such that they portrayed characters at their very worst.


Add the fact the only jokes in either were basic gross-out humour and you've got a perfect shitshow.

Into the Wand was probably the most we've been shown about the Butterfly family since Game of Flags. I've not re-watched it yet, but maybe even since Mewnipendance day. And, on top of that, it's the first (partial) Toffee appearance for S2 and clearly implies there's going to be more.

Hell, just as a single example: I'd basically figured the "card suites" theory was dead, and this brought it back. And juding by the decoration, It's (maybe?) implied there's some kind of distinction between the primary suites (Diamonds Hearts Clubs Spades) and the secondary suites (Coins Crowns Stars Lighting(!?)).

Toffee looked quite a bit older than 14-year-old, I'm assuming, Moon, and I don't think Disney would go there. At first I was wondering if Toffee hooked up with Eclipsa and then killed her based on the skulls on his outfit, but I guess the monster in the portrait of her is pretty obviously meant to be her husband.
