Hey, /co/. I'd like to read every issue of "Batman" cover dated between January 1990 and December 1999, a little at a time.
Don't ask why.
This is the issue following the conclusion of A Lonely Place of Dying.
So literally the first issue with Tim Drake as Robin.
It's Wolfman so prepare for WORDSWORDSWORDS

Thank you
I fucking live for this detective shit. This has got me in that detective mood so I bought a bunch of classic adventure games on GOG.

>Don't ask why.
To take your mind off these horrible, horrible elections?
>furs
What is this, the 16th century?
>>87528463
I've gotten extremely good at ignoring politics over the years. Comics are the biggest help.

Cool

>Star Trek games
I wasn't even aware of these. Any good?

Read issues 443-572
Fair warning, a good number of those are swept up in crossover events like Knightfall and No Man's Land.
>>87528536
Glad Crysis got added
>>87528542
I already got 'em all in my trusty storytime folder.
I'm aware of the crossover stuff but I'm gonna keep it to a minimum.
>>87528185
I've been reading Golden Age comics for the last week. If you think this is WORDS, you ain't seen shit.

>>87528636
I will say this is unusually succinct for a Wolfman script.
>>87528668
All those words to say so little.
>>87528151
>So literally the first issue with Tim Drake as Robin.
I forgot wolfman created Tim, he feels more a Dixon creation.
>>87528688
>>87528688
>All those words to say so little.
Agreed
>>87528721
He really does, at least in my mind.
>>87528688
I wouldn't say Wolfman does WORDSWORDSWORDS any more than your average 70s or 80s american comic book writer.
>>87528771
Same with Connor hawke Kelley Puckett
Jim Aparo.
That must have hurt
Ten bucks says Batman will try to bang this girl, and then she'll end up dead.
This sounds like my current job.
/fit/ as fuck
If there's one thing I hated about most 90's Batman comics it's the Batcave. I just hate how... yellow it looks. Eugh.
>>87529081
We were definitely still feeling the influence of the 60's show.
>>87529052
>>87529073
>that casual talking and bonding
wish they would bring that back
Somehow I've always just bought that the costumes just looked like skintight leotards, but were really padded and armored somewhat. How? Because comic books. Unstable molecules.
The last thing you see on the camera is a big blue fist flying toward you
Zur-En-Arrh?
>>87529147
Somehow I've always liked the idea that Batman really is a guy in a leotard that's just really good at dodging bullets.
Was Wolfman a chemistry fetishist or something?
I can't believe Batman looked at his wall of gadgets and said "Yeah, I'm gonna need the mirror tonight, for sure."
>>87529241
Another thing I like. Having a bunch of tacticool armor probably makes it pretty hard to sneak around and do acrobatics.
>No, Mr. Batman, I expect you to die!
>>87528542
No Man's Land isn't terrible, and Knightfall can be short if he's only doing Batman issues and not including Detective and Shadow of the Bat books.
>>87529432
I've read Knightfall a few times and most of the "tie-ins" are fluff. Except for a couple of moments you can just keep to one title.
Jingle Bells from Christmas With the Joker started playing as I read this page.
Russian Martian Batman
>>87529468
Knightquest is the one full of filler (mostly from JPV's end, although Bruce's part was also horribly drawn out). It's practically Batman's very own mini-Clone Saga.
>>87529554
That mostly had to do with Bloodlines and give people of a taste of JPV Batman was like during normal detective work. Also an attempt to shit on all his relationships even though the Outsiders weren't very big fans of Bruce Bats at the time and Tim was always on edge and Huntress was her usual bitchy self.
Literally Russian Gordon
>>87529554
I actually just realized I never read KnightQuest, only Knightfall and KnightsEnd
So at least that'll be new.
>>87529625
In Soviet Russia, Comissioner rapes you!
>>87529716
fucking kek
Typical fedora-tipping atheist
>>87529797
>Anna Petrova
Looks familiar.
Vicki Vale. Now, that's a name I've not heard in a long time.
Batman:
>What the fuck am I reading
>>87529847
She'sthe bad guyin the Telltale game
>>87529905
not muh
Tim, you gay nerd. She obviously wanted to polish your bo staff.
>>87530000
Remember that time a poor slav girl wanted his dick?
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Volkh
>>87530068
Yeah, she died and became a sorceress or some shit like that.
So, this guy's definitely gonna fight Batman in the BvS follow-up, right?
I love when music happens to correlate perfectly to what you're reading.
What the fuck is happening in that first panel
Like pottery
>>87530173
What's the point if he won't be called NKVDemon anyway just like KGBeast wasn't called KGBeast?
>>87530297
To get fans hyped up from casting announcements
>>87530332
I'm not falling for it twice, Snyder!
>I'M NOT WEARING HOCKEY PADS
>soccer
Wait what
>>87530398
The logical conclusion is that it's his son's birthday and he wanted to go see a hockey match.
I could have done without that detailed description of the smell of a stank locker room.
Where the hell is Rocket Red!
Hell yeah, train action sequence
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCmcL-jI7Lw
Goddamn cliffhanger. Or... catwalkhanger
>Batman, I know how you Americans do it, but eh... we do not... violate... our criminals here...
>>87528430
I really miss this Batman look. with the blue and grey and yellow emblem.
Don't worry, Vicki, I'm sure that Earth Day thing will turn out swell.
Batman really dropping the fucking ball. He's down nine to nothing.
And that's it for tonight.
Thanks for reading.
