Just doing my bit.
>>87517720
your bit benefits us all. keep going
how do you have the patience to storytime for three hours?
>>87518724
Its not that bad.
You select image, hit the captcha, and hit the post button.
Catcha won't expire.
So its like 1 post/minute if done right, where you only interact with it each 2 minutes
That or he is using a dumper.

man, as i mentioned in the previous thread, these Dalrymple issues were amazing. i also dig the way they mixed up the art in latter issues. looking forward to rereading them.

RIP OP
>>87518724
I don't, that's why I stopped.
>>87514740
pfffffft.
So is it possible to read the back story on this universe? Like what caused humanity to turn into an evil totalitarian empire of clones that can plan missions through time, and where did the super-clone (original John Prophet?) come from and why does he want to stop them? How is Diehard from the 1940's?

>So is it possible to read the back story on this universe? Like what caused humanity to turn into an evil totalitarian empire of clones that can plan missions through time, and where did the super-clone (original John Prophet?) come from and why does he want to stop them?
Sorta. It's a continuation/soft reboot of the original 90's comic (which is why it starts at issue 21 where, the original comic left off). But a lot of this background is completely new (the series starts thousands of years after the fact after all) so even if you read the Liefeld issues you're never going to get enough context.
>How is Diehard from the 1940's?
I think this is from Moore's Supreme, which I didn't run because it contradicts Glory and it was never properly finished anyway.
>>87521976
And I forgot the page. Shit.
>>87521873
ffs what
>>87522037
Yeah, Troll aged in a funny way.
>>87521864
If I'm not mistaken the John clones were originally used as super soldiers by the earth empire to scout and infiltrate alien worlds to determine if they could be conquered. If the planets were ripe for conquest they would send out hordes of Prophet clones to take over and enslave the population then send resources back to earth. Over time the earth empire became bloated and decadent then began to collapse from within. When the John clones across the universe lost touch with the earth empire and no one to restrain them they simply fell back on what they were created to do. Ultra violence and conquest. Humans have all but gone extinct and the only remnants are the various versions of Prophet clones.

i think the Strikefile issues covered some of the history of this universe. lots of ground to explore in it. i wish others in the Image roster take it up like what Dark Horse did with Grendel Tales. stories set in that universe by different teams.
>>87522670
That would be pretty fucking awesome. Prophet could be Image's next big franchise on the right hands.
>>87522415
this may be conjecture, but i think humanity evolved into the women with big heads who control the Prophets - sorry, haven't been reading and their name escapes me.
>>87522727
i would like to think so, but like Grendel Tales, Prophet hasn't/didn't really break the bank sales-wise. however, i hope Earth War isn't the last we see of the Johns. it's such a rich universe for other creators to explore.
>>87522815
I was mostly referring to the movie, I feel like there's a lot left to explore and I find the universe itself immensely appealing. I don't want to call it the next Star Wars or anything, but fuck man, this would be popular as hell with the right promoter.
>>87522870
i mentioned in the previous thread how the universe is definitely ripe for film or tv series exploration. i'd love for one to follow the structure of the series: several episodes with one Prophet, several episodes on another, until a climax where they meet. i can definitely see it as a trilogy or multi-season tv series. man, one can only dream....
>>87523019
They are producing a movie, but it doesn't have a director or anything attached yet, so it's pretty much just talk for now.
>>87523060
What are those multi headed men?
And that's it for now, more Prophet next time.
>>87523214
Thanks man. It's been so long when I last read these.
>>87523214
Thanks!
this is where I left off I think. Rereading the comic made me appreciate a lot of things I miseed. Thanks for the storytime man
>>87523214
See you next time OP!

Sky Johns, which can fly and are essentially biological weapons of war.
This is fantastic. real inspiration for imagery and ideas for some space shit i'm trying to do myself. Thank you anon for bringing this to my attention.
