An empire run on subjugation and mind control is not really on the good side of the spectrum. If there's any empire that is, all we see is a convoluted caste system of soldiers and decadent mothers running the show through gene and mind control. Where's the liberty to raise a family, build a community, commune with the many weird planets they've expanded to? I love how much characterization is given to these guys in so few pages.

reads like Jodorowsky-lite. not that that's a bad thing. i love how the story progresses. something to be said about slow and steady. very cinematic, too. can you imagine this as a series of sci-fi films or HBO/Netflix series? awesome stuff.
