Marvel and DC should add more lesbians instead of gays, that way, you please the Tumblr scene and comic book readers
Agreed

But could they be like hot fun lesbians with some type of subtext before, instead of out of nowhere soapbox lesbians?
>>87513791
But Tumblr fujos like guy on guy
>>87513836
Who cares about fujos anyway?
They actually already do do that.

Isn't half of DC's most popular female characters either gay or bisexual at this point
>>87513821
I think they could just be cool well written characters who happen to munch on vag. I think that's a rational compromise for everybody.

But Anon, Carol and Jess are best friends. They're not lesbians. I cherish their friendship.
>>87513791
Carol and Jess chemistry was never romantic until Hopeless played subtext galore.

Batgirl and Supergirl are the only well known female characters left who aren't bisexual
So yes
WW, Catwoman, Ivy, and Harley being the bisexual ones

what writers need to do is make a character so badass / magnetic that it doesn't matter if they're gay / lez
the midnighter is an excellent example ... when he gets laid, i think to myself, 'good going!' and that's because i actually like the character and his silly stories. i don't think, 'ugh' like i would if it was just some gay character being gay for the sake of progressive / fujo points
honestly, there's a lot of straight characters that are gayer than midnighter because of gratuitous, meaningless, out of character beefcake
what you need is clear motivations and a lot of character (and not just 'i like to suck dirty dicks all day and night'), so the reader focuses on the motivations and the character instead of the manner of depiction.
basically the gender has to take a complete backseat to everything else. the character needs to be awesome and have an awesome story, first and foremost, THEN make him gay. if the guy is 'gay: the character' for internet points then it's guaranteed to blow (big fat nigger dicks).
