Does /co/ prefer stylized art or more homogenous House style

Both have their merits. Definitely depends on the story what type works better

I prefer well drawn art above everything.
>>87494993
I think that it really depends on the tone of the book.

preferring one over the other is idiotic, if you properly understand what makes good comic art then you don't have that line of thought, there's more to comics art than just being realistic or not.
both of them if done well

Has to fit the story, really.
A house style really seems appropriate for some books, others work well with more abstract styles.
And both can be done well or terribly.
But stylisation kinda offers the possibility of higher reward if it really underlines the story.
And the higher risk if it doesn't.

Like others have said, it depends on the book. Generally I think the artist's personal style is good for their own book, but during crossovers I prefer a semi-realistic house style.

>House style

Depends on the style. I love Ashley Wood but I don't think many people would like to see him draw Super Sons, unless maybe it was a Halloween issue.
Depends on the context, characters, plot, everything.
A well-done house style is fucking great in a more regular, forward plot, but shit like ANGR's stylized early stuff or literally any time Jack Kirby or Steranko got weird was fucking amazing.

Depends on the book and the story. Mike Allred's clean style worked perfectly as a juxtaposition to all the fucked up shit happening in X-Statix/X-Force, for example.

The standard Marvel/DC style is boring as shit. I like art with personality. All New Ghost Rider being a good example.

assuming all other qualities of the comic are equivalent or similar?

There are so many things that affect art styles, but even a bad one can look good under certain settings. Then, there are irredeemable art styles such as the "tumblr" art style that makes everyone look like half bred human pigs. But that style might be considered irredeemable because we haven't found the right setting for it yet, so yeah.

This.
Tho I think standard Marvel and DC comics in general are boring, so I think it fits. I can only get in to their more niche or stand-alone books for very long.
The current DC house style is so terrible. It doesn't enhance the story in any way. It has no passion, no personality, there is no point in making a visual medium if you slack off at the "visual" part.
