So what exactly qualifies a Disney Princess? Does one simply have to be a girl in a lead or supporting role in a Disney movie these days?
Adolf Hitler was a princess?
>>87470762
Did you miss the retelling of Anne Frank by Disney? Hitler was actually manipulated by the evil nazi witch and locked up in the Neuschwanstein Castle.
>>87470762
why did you put a question mark at the end of that?
>>87470744
One of these things is not like the other...It's Mulan. She has no familial connection to the government of her kingdom.
>>87471439
Is Milan a disney princess though? Every thing I've seen (worked in the toys department at Target for 6 years) didn't include her with the everyone else
>>87470744
Disney arbitrarily chooses you for their Princess line
That's all.
>>87471474
Yes, she's a part of the line.
>>87471474
Yeah. She's just not very popular, which is probably why you didn't see any of her merchandise.
>>87471658
>everyone is in expensive dresses and ball gowns
>injun is in rags
oi matey im laffin
>>87471789
Ariel's practically naked.
>>87470744
Are you a popular female character that Disney wants to continue pushing for merchandise after your movie loses popularity? You are a Disney Princess. Ana and Elsa are not Disney Princess because the Frozen brand still sells, once sales state dipping a bit for the Frozen brand they will move them to the Disney Princess brand and watch the sales come in again.
>>87473458
Yeah she literally just has a top
>>87471620
>not very popular
Why do kids have such awful taste?
>>87471620
>>87473566
I think Mulan is generally liked, but when she is shoehorned in with the Disney Princesses, nobody thinks of her as a princess. The label is kind of off-putting. The Disney Princess line is like a whirlpool- no matter how powerful a character is alone, if the Disney Princess line takes control it will consume the popularity.
>>87471439
Don't tell me you think the Beast was a ruler of some kind. Nobody in town even even believed he was real, and he'd only been transformed for like 10 years.
>>87473732
His name was The Prince. I don't know why the village seemed oblivious to his presence, but that's incontinuity for you.
>tfw thanks to Disney's insane policies about the princesses we'll never get a series/comic where they actually interact and do things together
>>87471789
My problem is that Mulan isn't in armor. She hated that makeup and stuffy clothing. Put a sword in her hand and let her be her violent tomboyish self.
>>87470744
This video talks about what qualifies to be a Disney Princess.

>>87473861
Mulan doesn't want to be a boy though. She joined the military to protect her father from service & stayed to prove herself as someone who is worth honor.
>>87473861
She wasn't crossdressing because she wanted to, she was trying to prote--
>>87473977
Oh, what this anon said.
>>87473788
More info on that?
>>87471789
She has an alternate dress but it would be too racist to put her in white people clothes.
>>87474084
She was also not particularly happy when she had to wear that dress. You want her to be in a good mood.
>>87473788
Reminder that this nearly got approved to actually happen
>>87474559
Captain Amelia and Mulan are too pure to princesses
>>87474618
The whole project was literally too cute to be greenlit
>>87473921
I'm still mad they didn't make her apart of the Disney Princess lineup.
>>87475236
It was because Disney would have to pay royalties to Amy Adams for selling merchandise with her likeness.
Plus, Giselle never married a prince, so technically she is not a princess (like that stops Disney).
>>87474559
I'm so disappointed it was nixed. I need Disney Princess Best Friends in my life.
>>87475236
Amy Adams would cost to much to have parade around Disney World all the time.
>>87473732
Wasn't he a count ?
>>87470744
Pretty much this
>>87470762
The man was one of the biggest Disney fans of all time. Of course Walt granted his wish. In fact, not many people know it, but the Fuhrer was descended from a Long Line of English Queens. Hence his full name Adolf Elizabeth Hitler
>>87474687
who are the rabbit kids on the stairs?
>>87474084
>>87474121
>She was also not particularly happy when she had to wear that dress.
But image her riding dick in that dress, while mildly miffed that she has to wear it.
>>87470744
Kuzco was a good princess. He was moody and emotional then had a character arc
>>87474559
amelia, jane, and alice aren't even fucking princesses
they still had the gall to ignore an actual one, fucking hell disney
>>87470744
Disney decides and then puts you in a line up with the others.
That's it.
That's why you have Mulan as a Disney Princess despite not being one. There is no real qualifications outside of who they can reach and market to with their characters.
Which princess would win in a battle to the death?
>>87476551
You can argue that Tarzan is the gorilla equivalent of royalty, so Jane could get a pass. The other two, not so much.
>>87476638
Elsa > Cristal Kida > Powergap the size of the observable universe > Mulan > Nala > everyone else
Note: Jasmine cannot be ranked as her power would depend on however the fuck Genie feels that day.
>>87476638
Mulan is the only one with combat experience, Merida is skilled, Pocahontas probably knows some stuff. Is [Atlantis Princess] stronger than a standard human? Rapunzel has some incapacitive abilities between her hair and frying pan techniques.
>>87476694
Merdia is probably more dangerous than Nala and possibly Mulan.
>>87476694
So is Moana going to be Jasmine tier?
>>87476458
>But image her riding dick in that dress
You already won me over.
>>87471474
No, she's a city in Italy.
>Forgetting the best Disney princess
>>87477590
Not royalty. Doesn't marry royalty. Doesn't crossdress to save anyone's ass. No princess.
>>87474071
Disney hate having their properties interact with each other, it's why in the artwork the princesses are always looking at the camera and never at each other in group shots.
It's also why Disney worlds are self confined in Kingdom Hearts outside of Mickey and friends, and why practically all the crossover stuff was left to the players in the toybox in Disney Infinity.
House of Mouse and Once upon a Time are exceptions.
>>87478028
>Disney hate having their properties interact with each other
any reason why?
>>87474559
Who's the kid between Belle and Alice?
>>87476381
They're from Robin Hood, I forget if they had names though.
>>87478028
this is bullshit because they interact together in the theme parks all the time
shit, they just made a new show where they all get together for some friendship festival
>>87474559
Who's the girl in front of Alice and next to Belle? Looks like Lilo, though.
>>87478199
Who the fuck knows? Brand dilution? I have no idea.
>>87478223
As I said there are exceptions but they have actually mentioned this in the past with regard to Infinity, KH and the Princesses.
That said, if Infinity wasn't cancelled they were finally going to do a crossover with everything so who knows, maybe they finally loosened up.
>>87478028
The Aladdin and Hercules cartoons also had a crossover. Lilo and Stitch had a bunch of crossovers, although they were with cartoons not based on movies, which is kind of weird actually.
>>87478412
Like I said, they were inconsistent with which property is affected by this rule.
>>87478360
An OC donut steel that was meant for the short
>>87478396
thats fucking gay
>>87478028
>>87478396
>>87478458
It really boils down to their mood at the moment/whoever is running the office that particular day.
>>87473921
>>87475431
>>87475641
Who's Giselle, who's Amy Adams, and why would they do a fucking stupid thing like that?
>>87473921
also I absolutely loathe this guy's mannerisms and speaking voice and face
how does one man get so repellent?
>>87478499
Yeah that's a good reason as any.
>>87478553
Live action movie called Enchanted.
>>87473977
She still didn't like wearing the clothing they made her wear to go see the matchmaker woman at the beginning of the movie
>>87478580
>Live action
>>87478740
Mulan didn't like the matchmaker outfit because it was uncomfortable. She was a farmgirl, not a villager groomed for husbandry. Just because a character doesn't like a particular dress doesn't make her a tranny/drag.
>is she marketable
>does she sell well in that market
>does her movie do well
