I agree with this. I feel she is trying to do too much with SU because she's inspired by too many things, and SU is a really rough learning experience rather than a polished masterpiece a lot of fans view it as.

Like, she wants it have cut-to-the-heart emotional moments but is forced to pack them in within an 11 minute time frame. She wants wacky Ren & Stimpy expressions but then wants dramatic seriousness at the drop of a hat. Normally if you want comedy and drama, you have a character dedicated to comic relief, you don't make emotionally broken characters like Pearl the ones making the wacky cartoon faces.

She wants it to be episodic but keeps throwing in a series-long arc which ends up really fucking up the pacing of the show overall.

But overall, decent show for first time showrunner.
