Other than voice actors genuinely messing up their lines, is it actually possible for animated bloopers not to feel contrived?
I don't know, I thought the bloopers from A Bug's Life were pretty well done.
But for the most part you just can't script convincing flubs. It's just not possible.

I think the only cartoon that could possibly have bloopers is South Park since they laugh a lot recording their lines.

The Incredible's DVD had animation failures that were fascinating as hell.
Things like variables being off and Violet's hair looking like a pile of snakes because the strands were too thick, or Mrs. Incredible colliding to and sticking to a pylon.

Honestly, I consider stuff like this to be as valid as other types of bloopers.

>contrived
But that's what they are. They are written and animated like the rest of the movie.

No, but the execution can still make it pretty funny.

The only blooper I like in that movie is Atta laughing at Hopper.

I know, but I'm asking if it's possible to make them FEEL natural, or does the inherent knowledge always make them feel forced, regardless of how smoothly they are delivered?

Woody holding the clapper for A Bug's Life always gets me. Funny to envision the idea that Pixar characters are the stage crew for every new movie.
Animation screw ups. This only works in cgi and stop motion, not traditional.
I know the Shrek 1 dvd and Tangled dvds both have goofy moments during production. Rapunzel's hair was so hard to maintain.

Some of these are terrifying, but I'll admit Fuzzy Donkey made me chuckle just for how it continued to happen. Especially if I try to envision the frustrated animator's face.

I would watch Fuzzy Donkey version of Shrek any day.

I like naked Merida phasing into her dress that's riding the horse

In the 2005 Punisher video game the ending credits sequence showed off a series of visual bugs the devs had encountered during making it. Not really the same thing as a movie blooper but it served the same general idea of "funny shit that happened during the making of this product".

Closest thing you can really do is have a voice actor mess up a line but manage to remain in character.
The Muppets are amazing at doing this.
