They never again reached the heights of year 2. I will say I stuck around for year 3 because I love DC/vertigo's magical corner of the universe.

Year 4 wasted the New Gods and the potential there and year 5 dragged out some pointless Bizarro plot instead of multiverse shenanigans of Lex looking to pull over duplicates.

Fingers crossed Injustice 2's comic with Tom Taylor back is a winner, I'm expecting to see Ra's play a big role.

Nothing inherently evil in re-activating the Manhunters.
Now, admittedly torturing poor Saint Walker was a bit of a dick move, but that plot point also makes the whole Fear Engine business make no sense; Sinestro already found a way to power up his Corps by using Blue Lanterns, he doesn't need to kidnap people to use in some badly explained machine.
