Anyone else excited for this? What are your expectations? I just found out Khary Payton (VA of Cyborg and also Ezekiel from The Walking Dead) will be voicing Wasabi. Neat.
>Trying to turn *these* 3D designs into 2D designs
>>87445478
Those designs look like season two of American Dragon.
Shioom Kim's design (the art from the credits) was already great for a 2d animated series.
>>87445478
Im interested. The movie, which I did enjoy, more ore less felt like a tv pilot. Well an extremely high budget one anyways.
The setting is good and they could make for a lot of interesting villains if they tried
>>87445478
I'm not sure how I like those designs if those are official, but I guess it all comes down to how they're animated. It's better than lower quality CG.
>While we already knew Hiro and the gang would be returning, we now have confirmation that Maya Rudolph (Aunt Cass), Jamie Chung (GoGo), Scott Adsit (Baymax), Alan Tudyk (Alistair Krei), Ryan Potter (Hiro), Genesis Rodriguez (Honey Lemon), David Shaughnessy (Heathcliff), and Stan Lee (Fred’s Dad) will all be returning to voice their characters from the film. Wasabi and Fred, however, will be voiced by Khary Payton (The Lion Guard) and Brooks Wheelan (Saturday Night Live) respectively.
>The cast will be rounded out by Jennifer Lewis (black-ish) as Professor Granville, Andrew Scott (Sherlock) as the villain Obake, comedian Andy Richter as Globby, Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs) as Richardson Mole, John Ross Bowie (Speechless) as Mei, Diedrich Bader (American Housewife) as Bluff Dunder, Susan Sullivan (Castle) as Fred’s mother, and Haley Tju (Bella and the Bulldogs) as Karmi.
>As we learned previously, the show picks up immediately after the events in Big Hero 6. After forming their team (and friendship) Hiro, GoGo, Honey Lemon, Fred, Wasabi, and Baymax are ready to set out on high-tech adventures to protect the city. When he isn’t fighting scientifically enhanced villains, Hiro will be dealing with the trials and tribulations of life as a college kid at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.

>>87447798
>and Haley Tju (Bella and the Bulldogs) as Karmi
Just caught that. They're gonna try to give Hiro an asian girlfriend around his age aren't they?
>>87447935
But nobody would want that.
>More Aunt Cass.
BUENO
>>87445478
>More of Honey Lemon's annoying weeb "accent"
She'd have been great if she didn't try to pronounce every word like a Japanese-wannabe.
>>87447974
It sounded like a spanish accent, not her being a weeaboo.
cant wait for more 2D Tomago. best girl
>>87447959
Asian Masculinity would want that.
Asian Masculinity NEEDS that.
>>87448372
>Asian Masculinity
That's any oxymoron, moron.
>>87448396
It exists solely because that logic.
>>87447935
>giving girl a girlfriend
But why? Like, no seriously, why does he need to have a love interest at all?
>>87448490
Giving a male MC a love interest in cartoons is mandatory.
>>87448490
So people will stop drawing gay incest porn of him.It won't work.
I'm having trouble seeing how they'd build from the movie's ending.
Hiro's motivation was really closely tied to Kabuki. Withhim out of action, I'm having trouble seeing him and Baymax transition to a more standard crime-fighting role. I know that cartoons aren't as big as the movies - but this is less about scale or high odds, more about how personal and self-contained the original plotline felt.
Still, I'm glad we have an opportunity to explore the other four more, and I think San Fransokyo works strong enough as a setting. I'd like to be proven wrong.
>>87448804
I see what you mean.
I'm also wondering why all these "scientifically enhanced villains" are starting to come out now when that was never really an issue in the movie-verse outside of Kabuki-mask
>>87448804
This is by the Kim Possible guys, so I wouldn't expect it to delve too deeply into the issue. It'll be probably more of an action comedy.
>>87445519
Just like how it was impossible to turn the original 2d designs into 3d
>>87445478
If it's animation is keyframed, I hope they get Titmouse or Disney XD's usual TV animation team
>>87448490
because in theory, they provide intimate emotional support normal friends are incapable of providing
also, people have an in-built tendency to expect the hero to ride of into the sunset with his lady, subverting that expectation causes most people to be disappointed
Remember when /co/ made their own Idea for a BH6 cartoon?
that was pretty neat.https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MqMVZv_PnSRrNvJBbFJhUJyTn5TNLRF4_297Y1Jz7Sk/edit?usp=sharing
>>87445519
I find it preferable over making it CGI, CGI ows always look so jarring to Mr because I keep comparing them to better animated movies, especially when they're adapted from a film.
>>87448804
You serious? The went straight Superhero at the end, from that point you can do anything.
>>87445478
>Khary Payton
Ah yes, following in the tradition of Cree Summer and Kevin Michael Richardson as the go-to black character voice.
>>87447798
>stan lee
Are they expecting him to live much longer???
>>87447935
>>87448396
Toshiro Mifune
Ah yes more stupid sexy Fred for me to ogle at
>>87445478
Can't wait for Gosabi!
>>87453962

>>87454555
>>87454615
>Fred is hairy
>this never made it into the movie
why is reality so cruel
>>87450818
To be fair, he didn't get much work besides Cyborg.
Then he got in Young Justice and Arkham City, and his career boomed from there.

Feels good man
Thanks for the smut you filthy degenerate
>>87456953any chance you could return the favor? my fred folder is pretty barren from the looks of your content
>>87457016
Psh that was all google-fu. I rarely save any images I usually limit it to 3 per husbando. But I can draw something if you want since I forgot how sleeping works.
Big Hero 6
more like
Big Hero DICKS
and Gogo's is the biggest of all
>>87453621
I don't imagine he's going to appear terribly often
>>87457120
why not we make this interesting? a Fred-trade
I'll ask for a Fred cuddling a pillow, maybe on a couch or something watching a movie
you can ask something in return
Damn I fucking hate Fred.
>>87457219
All in a days work my friend I need nothing in return unless you want to.
I'd like to see Fred having too much to drink and passed out on the floor.
>>87458674
Hmmm on second thought
It's not my best work I'll return later
and blow it out of the park next time
you'll know where to find me.
I've been waiting on new news about this.
I was hoping for a 3d take on the series but I had inklings that it wouldn't be after seeing Tangled show concepts.
These designs aren't too bad, pretty close to the source material except the style really makes the girls look really angular in comparison.
Low expectations. HL is my biggest motivator.
>>87445478
These better not be the official designs, they look like Canadian flash shit.
>>87445519
?
3D translates better to 2D than 2D to 3D
>>87463023
Yes but they already HAD good 2D designs they translated. It's the visual equivalent of when you put a sentence through several translators and then back to English but it's all wrong.
>>87463108
Problem is those aren't as friendly for TV budget animation
>>87445519
I don't like all the straight edges that have been applied. The concept art is simple enough.
