Yes. The entire point of the series is that he's a dick who doesn't want to accept he's a dick so he pretends not to be a dick and tries to forget about all the dickish things he did, but in the end he finally accepts his dick history and attempts to learn from it and grow to be a better person.
Which is exactly the case with Ramona too: doing bitchy things and then running away from the problems she causes.
This is why the two of them stick together: they're both assholes who try to learn to not be such assholes together.
