I really didn't enjoy the Catwoman stuff - the art looked too much like Scot Eaton, who I developed a kind of negative reaction to when he became the fill-in artist for Batman and Robin Eternal (it's probably because it's colored by Gabe Eltaeb, who often is paired with Eaton). But Catwoman's ears look really dumb.

I did appreciate that it was roughly equally anti-both candidates. But making both candidates so nakedly expys of the current presidential candidates was really annoying - if this is supposed to be canon, I really hope they don't carry it forward in terms of dialogue for the Penguin.

Prez - I read the 8 page preview during Convergence, and hated it. I hate this too. They don't even have the guts for the topic under discussion to be abortion. Instead, we have two dudes lecturing dudes about how to be feminist about birth control, which most dudes are already okay with. It doesn't work as an abortion metaphor, but the dog whistling is clearly to the pro-abortion side. Not even mentioning the naked hatred of the constitution - not the interpretation of it, but it's just an obstacle, rather than something that the president of the USA is supposed to know about and uphold.

Why would the exaggerated satirical comic book do that when actual, living people can't be bothered to? "Scared old farts who are afraid of vaginas and fuck their daughters" is the entirety of the characterization that people who argue against easy access to contraception get. Public funding is "the excuse", socialism is "the scare tactic" and thinking that pussies are gross is "the real reason".

You are asking for a level of nuance that actual politicians and lobbyists do not use.

Then why have they done next to nothing to add restrictions to publicly funded family planning providers but instead have in the past six years enacted something like 300+ abortion restrictions, including shit that requires pregnant women to view the fetal ultrasound and hear the heartbeat at least 18 hours before the abortion procedure, requires providers to have admitting privileges at local hospitals (almost completely unnecessary), requires providers or individuals in possession of aborted or miscarried fetal to cremate or bury them, etc.

I did not love the Prez story as much as I hoped, but it was still fun, and 'Vagina Stuff" made me chuckle.
Sad that this is the last we'll see of it. I haven't read Flintstones yet, but maybe it's a good trade-off from the reactions everyone has had.
