Tumblr has some good content I will admit, but all of those, Pokemon, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, have factors that allow special snowflakeism to flourish.

Pokemon is the easiest franchise to create an OC for. The games even encourage it now.

Harry Potter allows yourself to imagine what house you'd be in and how you'd totally be the best wizard ever.

And Doctor Who is full of self insert Mary Sues.

Star Wars is more character and story focused. There really aren't many set rules to the universe.

Some got into Star Wars from the videogames, and others loved the EU. It's so huge that you can like just a single aspect of Star Wars, ignore the rest, and still find a strong community of likeminded people. Just like us here with our comics and cartoons.

Unlike the other three fandoms, you wont be forced to share your space with utter cancer.

The difference is a self-insert in Star Wars is hard to fit in as easily as Doctor Who or Harry Potter OCs because those franchises are grounded by having the actual real life Earth within it. Even the most self-insert OC i've encountered eventually grew into lives of their own because SW by nature doesn't really permit anything close to real life. You'd literally have to bring yourself via some dimensional bullfuckery for you to have full Tumblr because like I said even the most cringe OCs in Star Wars have the potential to become more than that.

It also helps that despite Disney trying their hardest, identity politics don't really fit into Star Wars no matter how much Cuck Wendig loves pushing it.

I just spent a while trying to remember when Luke did anything wrong, and the best I can think of is his accidentally disabling a bridge in ANH. Everything else he does is for the better, even when his mentors disagree. Also, Leia kisses him within an hour after their meeting for the first time. Think about it. She spoke to Palpatine IN PERSON after BARGING INTO HIS ROOM UNANNOUNCED. She hung with Vader and didn't die. I liked Rey. Not because she was powerful but because she had small traces of insecurities and weaknesses like being in denial about her family, having abandonment issues, and being able to grow attached to Finn, Han, and Chewie when she had no friends before, dealing with the fact that becoming a Jedi is her destiny. Hell, scenes where she was totally helpless against Kylo Ren were some of the best in the movie. However, while I liked the lightsaber duel between her and Ren, winning the duel was what started all these problems. If she lost or was at the very least even with Ren, I would have loved her a lot more, but as it is now, I only like her and I'm hoping the next movie will make her struggle more than Luke did to show more of those insecurities and weaknesses I liked here.

We don't even know what kind of school Luke had set up. It seems that Kylo and the Knights of aren't showed up and just murdered everybody. The one guy who gets killed in the flashback didn't even have a lightsaber.

This goes back to my original hypothesis that Luke wasn't even training his new Jedi with lightsaber. How else would the other Knights have been effective against them? Kylo is the only one with a lightsaber so maybe the Jedi didn't have any. It's even rumored that Luke won't have one in 8.

This could also be why Kyle's saber is so fucked because he's never seen one, but knows that Vader had one, so he wants one.

This could also be why Kylo isn't that good at dueling. Maybe he's never been in a lightsaber fight before.

This could be why Luke gives his lightsaber that odd look at the end of TFA. Maybe he was trying to train a less militarily inclined Jedi Order and it came back to bite him in the ass when someone came to kill them and none of them really knew how to fight.
